Default Where To Buy Sims 2?
Ive been hoping to play Sims 2 again but sadly my older sister took all of the games with her when she moved, meaning I have none. I was kind of sad to learn that I missed the free Complete Collection so I guess I have to buy them, PRoblem is I dont know anywhere to get them. None of my stores have them as far as I know and even so it would be really expensive for me to try and buy them all. So I was wondering if anyone knew anywhere online to buy the games for somewhat cheap. A bundle with more than one available would be nice.

also, if you live in the Uk, you can try the charity shops and places like cash converters/ cash generator and indie stores like CEX.
where i live the sims 1 and sims 2 disks are showing up regularly in charity shops (in the USA they are often called thrift shops, i think?) becasue people get rid of them when they move, stop liking the old stuff...sometimes mum throws them out when you move out ect.

i cannot tell you how many good bargins i have had over the years, becasue someone was kind enough to get rid of their unwanteds by giving them to a charity shop (books, games, dvd's aside i have even had stuff like DnD books and Models befor health and safety designated the metal minis as a hazard lol)
one persons trash, is someone elses treasured item :D

You cannot get the UC now, it was available for only a short period of time! But yes your best bet is Ebay or Amazon

Want a specific style of house or community building? Why not take a look at my profile and see what I build and then come ask me to make it!

First of all .. and this may be a long shot by now ... try to see if you can still get UC. I thought the same thing, too ... once the game code expired in July, there was no way to get the game free ... but people proved me wrong here months after the code expired, and I'm glad they did. This is one case where I WANTED to be proven wrong! Try to e-mail EA and ask nicely. The worst you'll get is "No way!" and occasional EA e-mail spam. It's worth a try.

But if it's really over and you're out of luck, I got most of my physical disks in great condition and for great prices off Half.com, EBay and Amazon. I would first take a look at sold listings on EBay to see what the going price is for these disks now, then set that as your maximum. I had no trouble getting all the EPs and SPs I was missing, even (sigh) Happy Holidays. I bought only from those with 90% ratings and up (One does have to realize that even with great sellers, you get an occasional malcontent who wants to make someone's life miserable), and with more than 20 seller ratings. Make sure the games come with all disks, manuals and codes, and if the seller doesn't mention that, ask via e-mail or messaging, even if the seller says the game is complete. Make sure everyone is on the same pages as to what "complete" is!

And yes, thrift stores and garage sales are other good sources. Make sure the EPs are complete, of course. The advantage of that is you can actually examine the contents in question.

Hope you can still get the freebie, but if not ... happy hunting!

@KarenLorraine
If you have a copy of any of the Sims 2 game or EP and you beg and keep on calling EA support you will get one of them to give it to you, you must tell them you main game disk is broken or lost or?

Just make it a sob story and keep at them and you will get a copy of it.

And the poster can claim the disks are gone. That is technically not a lie ... they ARE all gone.

She might at least need a code or two, though. Perhaps a call to the sister?

People are still getting the UC thru the chat service.

Some said it may take a few tries and to wait a bit and then try to get a different chat person and some said that they just kept explaining that others had just gotten it - all said to be nice and polite.
There are also a few that said they had remembered having an older user name when they'ed registered their games and found it already on that account.

So it is still possible to get it.

Begging I know for a fact you can still get it, a relative just has. She just gave them her Sims 2 registration code, explained that she did not have internet way back when she bought it - and, well, voila

If you're on Mac you can purchase The Super Collection(which doesn't have all the SPs and is missing Apartment Life and Freetime *sob*) from the app store as a download. I paid 29.99 EUR for it, but it seems to be on at 29.99 in GBP and USD too, so not the cheapest option. But huzzah for us Mac users!

Update: I bought some Sims 2 games from a used game store nearby since they had them for like five dollars each so I bought three. However they wouldnt work on my computer so I ended up getting a copy of Ultimate Collection from EA as a compensation. Yay!
