I think Maxis is maybe trying to drown out CC. There seems to be a new SP or EP every 3 months or so. My wallet really cant keep up. Although if one of the SP's was better than usual Maxis clothes, I would definately have to check it out. They really need to make an SP that fixes ugly townies.

You can de-customise custom clothes - there's a tutorial on it (by Jordi, I think) in Peasentry at MATY.
Currently, I'm only using Maxis clothes and furniture, to keep loading times down, so I'm extremely interested in H&M stuff. I agree with earlier posters, that it means the shop. Google it, and you'll see why.

However, I did manage to see the picture of the front cover and basically all the stuff was like wedding, valentines, fancy party, maybe easter. There were some new formal clothes, a new trellis-like arch with flowers and ribbon, there was a heart-shaped picture/poster, a wedding cake (it didn't look big enough to fit a dancer, though), fireworks, an outdoor standing umbrella thing, and I think a new barbecue...the stuff looked decent, but not really anything to be clamored over...like the other Stuff Packs. Also, I tried attaching a the Amazon thumbnail for the pack...I hope it works. |
Here's a larger picture of the cover. You're right, that doesn't look like the dancer cake. *sniffle*
I just have a sinking feeling that we're going to see a few items from the now-defunct Life Stories set in this stuff pack...and if it's the case I'll be disappointed. I hope I'm wrong.

I want the dancer cake back!!!! :swear: *pouts* But this sp looks interesting. I'm getting it, anyway. I can't stand having an incomplete game. *yawn* But I never did download the Life Stories objects when they were up, and I was kicking myself for not doing that after they were taken down. *pouts again* I just wanna see different things from Maxis. :meh:

I know what you mean! XD The dancer cake was awesome. I'd buy like 10 and open them all at the same time.
I think the celebration pack will be supper dissapointing, though.

Actually, not at all. It's both for men and women, and the clothes are really great. There are a lot of H&M stores here in France, and it's my favorite shop. The clothes are cute, trendy and quite chic imo (of course, some things are horrible, but you hafta have some taste .
Anyway, although Celebratoin sounds dreadful, I'd probably get it (I like Maxis clothes better than custom ones), but I think H&M SP will be much better and really cool

I think they are just trying to cater to Simmers who don't download cc and also milk the Sims cash cow for all that it's worth. I don't see why they would be against custom content, it drives their business. This game wouldn't be so popular if not for custom content and the eps get old pretty quickly. If not for cc, I probably would have stopped playing the game after University.
I agree with the poster who said they wouldn't want English on the clothing. If it is H&M, the store, which I think it is, I'll probably buy it because they have cute clothes there but I don't want to see "H&M" plastered on their shirts like Guess or FCUK does. Though IRL, H&M doesn't do that so I'm not too worried.
Celebrations looks okay but not enough for me to buy it. I wish they would make smaller packs with just 5-10 objects that we could download for $7 USD. Like, there are some items that I would want in celebrations but not a lot and definitely not enough to make me buy it.

I doubt the H&M expansion is about the clothing store, since when have you seen Maxis make ANYTHING with a real brand on it? I doubt they would pick a clothing store to begin using real life brands inside the game. They picked a name that would keep people guessing and talking about it, and the more people talk about it, the more publicity the stuff pack gets, without having to advertise. All about the marketing =)

Remember the Alienware computer?? That's a real life brand.
Anyways, they have had artists doing the music, so why not clothes?
Although, one could disapprove of the commercialization of the sims brand,
I like to get quality content to the sims games, so I don't mind. The packs
might even turn out to be cheaper if they keep this trend up.

I personally doubt I'll buy them, simply because it's not worth the money for decorative items, especially since you can download a lot of better items for free. Celebration has potential imo, but I still doubt I'll bother buying it.

I have all the eps and sps so far and i always say to myself 'I'm not going to buy the next one' but I will anyway!
I am intrigued by the h&m pack and i hope we find out more about it soon. the celebration pack looks a bit rubbish but i will buy it anyway...

I probably won't buy either. I have never bought a stuff pack, although I do find Glamour rather intriguing...
I hope hope HOPE the H&M pack isn't the clothing store. Honestly... I don't mind real artists' music being in the sims, but a stuff pack dedicated to a RL clothing store... That's overly commercialised, and I personally find it a little disturbing.

I'll still get it if it's from the H&M store but I have no idea what that store sells as far as styles. I just found out that here in Michigan we have an H&M store, lol.
I really do hope it's Hair & Makeup, though! Oh my God, what if it is and they finally decided to convert all the hairstyles to all ages, along with new ones, and new makeup? That would be the best pack ever!

I don't know why people are upset if it is H&M the store. How many cc clothing skin artists use the designs from real fashion houses? Phat farm jackets, Gucci dresses and sunglasses, LVMH handbags, the "as seen on" collections are so popular. How is that any different from what Maxis is doing except it will probably look a lot nicer.
I really doubt H&M stands for Hair and Makeup or Home and Magic or Hamburgers and Mussels or anything else but the store. If it was any of that, they would have just said it instead of saying H&M because you only use ampersands (&) when you are combining two proper nouns like names and usually only for companies. If it was "hair and makeup", they would have used "and" and not an ampersand.

Funny. You say this, and then all of a sudden the Ford Mustang appears.
Do you think Maxis reads this forum?
