Default Introductions to Student Group
Hi all!
I thought it'd be nice to have a group for students to help each other out, vent about school and teachers and inexplicable people, and just get to know each other.
So go ahead and introduce yourselves here!
I suppose you should say what you'd like to be called, what grade you're in (or year for the British folks), what your favorite subject and/or class is, and any extracurriculars you're in that you'd like to share, and anything else you might like to put out there!

I'll go first,
I'm Panda, in high school in America, class of 2010 (Perfect 10!)
My favorite subject is science, my favorite class atm is AP Biology.
I am in drama, robotics, outdoor track, play flute and knit.
And I am the quintessential slacker, excepting that I still get good grades,

Good idea for a group!

I'm Rabid, and I'm an American high school sophomore. My favorite subjects are Honors English and AP World History, but next year, I look forward to taking AP Lit and Physics. I'm on the student newspaper and in Key Club, but next year, I'll be in National Honors Society and Quill & Scroll (association for more than two years of student journalism experience) on top of those. I'm in the top 5% of my class despite the fact that I don't study often- I have a good memory and I pick things up quickly, so I often don't need to.

I don't think I could ever look forward to Physics

But anyhow, Dreamydre15 here, also an American High School sophomore. My favorite subjects are Honors English II and Theater Arts. I'm in almost all Honors except Algebra II. I play JV Basketball and I love it!! The Clubs I am currently in are Drama, Speech & Debate and SAVE. CLASS OF 2011!!!!!!! (we're the best, although we're only in our second year of HS, lol)

I'm Daisie, and I'm in American high school. My favorite subjects (in general) are English and math, but since good classes rely on good teachers, my favorite class this year is ACP (highest honors level - AP classes aren't offered, um... right now) US Government. I'm in Beta Club and concertmaster in the school orchestra, but my main extracurricular activities - piano and theater - are outside of school.

My turn :D

I'm PuX- (don't froget the dash!).
I also am a high school student in the U.S.
Sophmore ('11), in our school we dominate over Seniors (Juniors and Freshmen), something they will never live down (Spirit Week).
I would be your average(-ish) teenage boy when it comes to brains.
Chemistry, Algebra B (me and math aren't friends :P), Spanish 2 (forced to take it), History CP, English (CP), and P.E.
Sophmores aren't allowed to do anything fun (newspaper, yearbook etc.)
I bombed lasted year so I desided not to join anything this year, I even wedged off of Sims (*shock*).

So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
I should've known you'd bring me heartache

Rabid- I am so glad I am not the only one psyched to take AP Physics, Next year I'm probably going to die because I'm taking it and AP Chem together though.

PuX-- I noticed in my school the underclassmen seem to care a lot more about spirit week. But 2009 (seniors) is far and above the best year (I'm 2010). Underclassmen can't do newspaper and yearbook either, but there are still after school extracurriculars that everyone is welcome in.

And to all else, welcome to the Students group, and I hope that yall have a spiffy awesome time! (yes, I still say spiffy awesome.)

Hey! :] I'm Ranta, and right now I'm in grade 10. My favourite subjects are French, English and drama, and my least favourites are math, debating and science. Outside of school, I take guitar lessons and extra drama classes- and sometimes go to creative writing club. Unfortunately, my school doesn't have many choices as far as electives go until grade 11, so right now everyone's taking pretty much the same things.

At my school, the science requirement for an Honors Diploma stipulates that we choose between physics or chemistry to fulfill one year of science requirements. I'm pretty dumb to choose AP Physics when I have the walking encyclopedia of chemistry at home (my dad is a chemist), but I think theoretical physics is just fascinating.

What foreign language does everyone take? I don't know about you guys, but I'm required to take three years of foreign language in order to graduate. I'm in French III.

I have Spanish 2.
We only have to complete 2 years of one language, 3 for a college.
My Junior High is evil...they offer Spanish after school, so we have freshmen in an all sophmore class.

I'm in Honors Latin III.
We need two years to graduate, but they encourage you to take it all four years.
They offer Spanish I in my Junior High School, so Spanish 2 is a mix of sophomores and freshies.

You have honors foreign languages? I'm jealous... the lowest grade I ever earned in French was a 101%; I would love to take it as an honors course.

At my junior high, they offered Spanish, French, Latin, and German starting in seventh grade, but taking two years of foreign language in middle school equates to one high school credit, hence why I'm able to be in French III. I would love to take French IV, but I don't have room in my schedule next year. Our teacher is phenomenal; he speaks eleven languages, including Arabic, Navajo, and Farsi.

Everyone, This thread is getting kind of off topic. I don't mind chatter about people's introductions in the introductions thread, but if you'd like to introduce an entirely new topic, like what classes are you taking next year, then I would prefer if you would start a thread. This is inspired by something in particular (duh) but I was going to say something to this effect anyway.

Anywhoo,
At my school, we have Honors Language 3 and AP Language.
So to take H. Latin 3 I had to take regular latin1 and 2.

In my Junior High you could take spanish for two years and that counted as Spanish 1.

I have Speech I next semester, I was suppose to have Newspaper but I don't know what happened. I'm interested in both of them though. Anyone else here have a Speech & Debate Club at your school?

Sorry for getting off-topic .

We have speech and debate team, but only about ten kids participate. You would think that there would be more, being that our student body is about 2500. I think it sounds fun, but I don't want to get up early on Saturday mornings to go to debates.

Hey guys! I'm happycowlover.
I'm a American high school junior (Class of 2010. Whoo!)
My favortie subjects are English and Psychology, with History coming in a close second
I'm on the smart spectrum of average and the average spectrum of smart. LOL
My classes this semester are: Honors Physics (sucks!), AP Lang, Honors Economics, Psychology.
Math is the work of the Devil and that's a proven fact.
I'm in the French Club and the Book Club.
I want to play Tennis but there may be some people on the team that I cannot stand, so I may have to rethink that.

My high school requires only 2 foreign language classes, though I'm taking French IV next semester. We don't have a Photography class (would love to take it if we did) but my German teacher takes a billion pictures of everyone around school and post it on our school's website.

Hey guys! thought it's about time for a brit to join the mix!
I'm Chonkers(Charli), in Secondary School in England - year 11 (ages 15-16 if that helps, haha)
Favourite subjects have to be Chemistry and Biology, i'm a proper science nerd but absolutely LOVE English Lang and Drama!
I'm taking Latin, History, Drama and French for GCSE (along with the compulsary Physics, Chem, Biology, English Lit & Lang and Maths), already have an A* in Science and am predicted all A's and A*'s for the rest (who knows how i'm gunna get them!)
Although I am the laziest person alive, i like to think i'm quite clever and go to a private all-girls school and even if the bitching gets to me sometimes - i'm staying for 6thform!

Wow, I best stop now

I'm Cheese (Carly) and I am a Canadian High School freshman. My best classes are Academic English and Science, Drama, and Business. I am currently involved in DECA (For those who don't know, it's somewhat of a business club that includes various competitions of role playing and tests in specific catgories, such as retail merchandising and food marketing) and love it dearly. I will graduate in 2012.

My livejournal buddy. I've always wanted to go to Canada, it seems interesting, but really I'm interested in knowing what's the difference between Americans and Canadians besides the fact that we live in two different countries

Me too. I have family that live in Toronto but I've never visited them before. I want to know the difference between Americans and Canadians too. I know instead of 10th grade and 11th grade, you guys call it Year 10 and Year 11, like the British and Australians. And in some places in Canada, they don't lock their doors. LOL
