I might be thinking of another skin, then. It had something to do with candy bars. I dunno. I just remember I had an alien default once with a vulvae on it. Or at least female pubes.

I like Lilith's skins, as they aren't overly shiny. As I said, I'm currently using her Honey skin as a default. It's advertised as Maxis match, but there's enough of her style in the skin that they look more semi-realistic, which is about my style.

EDIT: It's this skin. Anatomically correct, yup.

Who would think finding skin could be so tricky.

As for other defaults... have you got a whole page worth of room? I have stacks although sometimes clotheing defualts messes with cc clothing. Very annoying to find the once lovely cc item now a mess.

Skins: Correlated Skins *5 Year Creator Anniversary*
Eyes: DEFAULT Maxis Match eyes
Face Template: Replacement Face Templates for CAS/BodyShop

I tend to use only Maxis Match items in my TS2 game.

This is my full list of defaults so far, and its growing. The red boxed ones are the things I defaulted on my own. Yay for figuring out SimPE.

That looks something like my Default folder. I just checked and it says I have 270 files. I really have to go through the clothes and pull the ones that are clashing. Can creators not ensure this doesn't happen? I had to pull two child defaults just so my child skirts with tights and cat shoes from GOS would show up correctly. The default was so lovely too.
Bloom has given me some instruction on fixing this which i must try and tackle but I'm not a cc cretaor and not great in simpe. I have another default which caused some AM cc tracksuits to get a double stomach, and another has made some shoes look like skin blobs but no idea which one it is. Gah I seem to spend as much time sorting and fixing my downloads as I do playing.

As for skins I have changed my defaults several times since I last posted here. I had Summerdream Sims's Naturals V1 for quite a long time, and they are excellent. Right now I've gone back to the default Maxis skins though, and use the A La Carte body override by Ambular at MATY, which add nipples to female sims, since the no-nipples-thing simply creeps me out. I really like the Maxis skins, but I'm still tempted to try Aledstrange's Maxis improved replacement and use that together with the A La Carte override (should work since Ale's only replaces the faces and the A La Carte only the bodies). I also have the normal looking vampire replacement.

For eyes I use defaults from the Easy/Lucky/Free on Maxis sclera set, which can be found here and here. They are definitely the perfect eyes for me, so I also have around 30 geneticized eyes from that set as complements.

I have.. a few... defaults/replacements...
Genetics:
Skin: Venice Ephemera Skin Blends
Eyes: Bruno's Behind These Eyes (took me a long time to find a nice green default, as all others were too bright or not green enough for my liking)
Alien skin: Alien Default Skin Louis
Zombie skin/eyes: Navetsea's zombie skinset
Plantsim replacement: Ideal Plantsim
Plantsim Skin: Venice Supernaturals
Vampire eyes: Eye Love by Yumedust (recently switched to "Alice" was using "Secret")

Clothes/makeup:
Base game and OFB lipstick defaults: No More Spackle by Aquilegia
Maternity Clothes: Shina Sims Maternity Clothes defaults
AM swimwear: Oepu's Maxis Match Swimwear
Misc. toddler clothes defaults: Simgaroop's Advent 2011 Gift

And don't even get me started on defaults for jean fixes, food, cell phone, etc.

I'm using Enayla's default skintone replacement set. It really confuses my bff, who CONSTANTLY ASKS why my Sims' faces are so shiny. :D

I had some Pickpock eyes but I don't know where they've gone.

I also use a bunch of clothes replacements, because EFF MAXIS CLOTHES. XD

I'm currently using one of Enayla's skintone sets and Lovetadraw's Real Eyes defaults. I also have a vampire replacement skin by DylanTK and a witch replacement by spookymuffin.

I'm considering getting a new default skin set, as the Enalya skins are a little too shiny for my tastes.

Edit: thanks ShadowsMystery for the link to those maternity replacements, they look so much nicer then the Eaxis version! Can't wait to see those in game.

Well, if you are still looking for a very realistic style without the excessive shine, Alfie has some for use.

If you don't want extreme realism, but still a fair amount, Jessi and Trapping have a good assortment.

For something more Maxis Match with slight Semi-Realism, or just semi-realism in general, Lilith has some nice ones.

And for straight Maxis match, Leh is a classic.

I use these default skin replacements by teru_k https://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=261288 . I've been using them for a good 3 or 4 years - they're gorgeous.

I use CAS face replacements by selzi https://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=229016 .

And I have these incredible default eyes that I downloaded from GoS but that's down right now so I can't link to them.

I have a multi PT set that seems to work. I've only just had alien babies with it (I say babies because it was twins) and it worked, it was with Vidcund curious with his scripted abduction they ended up with blonde hair http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=320318 It has 4 PT's one with each regular hair color. They still look pretty alien though but not quite as much but still very. I love it but yeah, I know you can't have multiple PT mods, just 1 though that can include more than 1 PT depending on the set.

Last time I posted in the thread (way back in 2008!) I wasn't using default replacements for skintones, eyes or anything other than some clothing, apparently. How times have changed!

Now I use the following genetics-related defaults:

Skintones - Nukapei's Anatomically Correct Maxis Skins (no link as they're on SXS2)
Eyes - Lyran's Default Eyes (found under Genetics... Eyes....)
Hair For Babies - Theraven's Genetic Whispy Hair For Babies (the version without the bows for girls)

Face Templates - Selzi's Complete Set Of Face Templates

Alien Skintone - Katu's The Gathdra (this is the only working download link I managed to find. It took me ages to find it, but it's totally worth it, because they're awesome - and so detailed!)
Alien Eyes - I intend to start using Jbruntz (aka sicklittlemonkey)'s Fish Eyes (if I can persuade Mediafire to let me download them!), because they work really well with the new multi-PT mod I'm about to start using.
Multi-PT Mod - I used to use Lucia Carlota's Multi PT Set but I am going to switch to Backerbse's "Merfolk" Multi PT Set before I start my new 'hood.

It's not genetics-related, but I will also use the Invisible UFO Replacement that rugrat0ne shared on Plumbbob Keep - because merfolk don't have UFO's! :-D

Eyes - Bruno's Behind These Eyes are just so stunning and look good with the default skins in my mind.
Skin - No def-rep skins for me. I do have a few packs of geneticized skins, though.. too many lost links for me to find atm.
Face template - Also using a set by Selzi, although this set is not the same as the set mentioned in the post above me.
Names Mod - Because I really hate the default names.

Alienistic? Sure.

Skin - The green lizzard skin from genesims, which is second on the list.
Eyes - Major Blue from this pack is gorgeous.
Multi-PT - I never knew about these things until recently and I've fallen madly in love. I like the pretty-ugly mix in this Multi-PT set, I think it's a nice blend.

Take the Hard Hat Challenge. A relatively quick challenge designed to be added into almost any established hood.

Hollow Tune - Brick 'N' Mortar.

It seems I'm not the only one that has a hard time finding skintones I like. They seem to be too shiny, or the S1 is too pale or the S4 is too yellow, too red or not dark enough. Others look ok in CAS but look horrible on the pre-mades. I also don't like when it looks males are wearing a ton of makeup (I don't mind a little makeup on guys, but some skins look like they were drowned in it.)

However I've think I've found the skins I'm going to stick with recently:

S1-S4 (normal): ryuusei86's maxis match anatomically correct skins (can't link, they're on insim adult)

Alien: spookymuffin's maxis match anatomically correct alien skin (also on insim adult)

I can link the face default replacements I use made by selzi: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=250376

I use a Multi-PT #8 mod made by BoilingOil: http://www.leefish.nl/mybb/thread-2965.html

I also use a ton of default replacement clothing to change maxis made clothes, and a few default replace hairs.

I am a Lilith loyalist. I had Pooklet's Compulsion, and Ephemera's Simple Skin Set as defaults for a while, but now that I have found Lilith, I am never going back. For eyes, I like Shady's sparkling eyes. They don't minimize the eyes of my small-eyed sims, unlike the beautiful Yummedust ones. I do want to find some better eyes though.

Just so everyone is aware, you're not allowed to link to porn or illegal content. You are allowed to link to adult sites, as long as you warn that the stuff is NSFW and it's not, well, sim porn.

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

I don't use default replacement eyes, but everyone gets contacts of either bruno's Olivia's Eyes, kamikitten's Moony's Eyes, or pinkgrapefruit00's Monday Eyes. I like these eyes because they're realistic but semi-Maxis-matchy with regards to the size of the iris and the brightness of the sclera. I don't use default skins either but I have aqualectrix's geneticized versions of Purplepaw's Maxis match skin tones. I use Christianlov's skin tone changer with these, mostly to give pale redheads the Double Light skin. I also have Mootilda's modified eye genetics to have dark blue eyes be recessive, because that color is really uncommon in real life. Most sims get Sussi's DarkShine blush to add a little texture. I replaced some never-used faces with alfredaskew's MilkShaped default faces. One can be used to make asymmetrical eyes, one has parted lips, one ages to Elder really well, and one makes cranky-cute toddlers.

I use a mix of Ephemera's Soft skins and some Pooklet blends of them (compulsion) as skin defaults. And some very old eyes by Helaene. I also use some very old eyebrow defaults, half by Helaene and half by some other creator. I love them so much I've not changed my defaults in ages (not considering the slight change from Ephemera's originals to the Pooklet blends - they're similar enough, but the lightest skin as it was too pale for my taste, and the darkest skin was also a bit too light, plus I liked the slight change around the eyes).

Until recently I didn't use any default replacements at all, but I now use DOHC46's Lo-Res Skin Tones from our sister (adult) site. (Warning: it is an adult site, though I think this item is fairly innocuous). They are basically the same as the Maxis skins except that the females are a little bit more anatomically correct. As I've said elsewhere, I don't find female nipples a big turn-on (except perhaps for hungry babies) but their absence disturbs me. Using skin tones based on the Maxis ones means that my Sims look the same as they always did.

I don't use default replacements for anything else, because I suppose I'm happy with what Maxis gave us.

I have a question, and I thought it might be better to ask here than to spawn a new 'dumb question' thread. I'm very new to the world of default replacements (or at least doing it on a large scale), and my go-to site has been the sims2defaults database to find creators who do lots of defaults. However, I have several ugly EA male adult formal outfits I can't stand, and which do not seem to appear on the sims2defaults site. Does that just mean no one has created default replacements for those specific items yet? (This is the first time I've run into a situation where the content is just not there. It's definitely not CC, and it's not some other inadvertent default replacement item, it's multiple ugly suits. I can post image links if requested, but for example, the formal suit with that has four straps and buckles across the stomach, and looks kind of like a bulky straitjacket.) Thanks in advance!

There are several male formal suits on the sims2defaults database that do not have default replacements but the suit still is shown on the database, so the maintainers seem to show the options even though they may not have current default replacements.

Thanks.

Well, to follow up on my original question, I found the 'ugly formal suit' I was talking about. However, it only appears as Outerwear on sims2defaults, but definitely appears as Formal in my game, towards the front of the catalog, which is why I hate it so much.
