Also was I supposed to get my $250,000 by now? Because I don't have it

I play online on PS3. And I agree about people being assholes. They just run around and kill me for no reason. Bastards.

I'm not very good though. I've only played online a few times but I'm really getting into it now. In short, I totally suck.

I've recently acquired this game and while I am satisfied with it for the most part, there are gripes I have about it.

I'm dissatisfied with the story and its ending (I chose option C). The ending just felt too easy and cheap to me. As does most of the storyline. I felt the storyline was too short, and lacking a lot of the tension IV's story had. The characters felt uninteresting and their back stories are ones I just couldn't relate to in any way unlike Niko's back story in IV.

And while the atmosphere and landscape is amazing and captures west coast United States perfectly, I can't help but to feel the game world still feels a bit empty. Yes sure there are tattoo shops, clothing shops and car tuning shops, but the game is lacking things like gambling/casinos, restaurants, nightclubs and horses, all of which are features previous Rockstar titles on this generation have had.

I'm also disappointed with the new driving physics. They feel too arcade-like. The cars have too much grip and hardly any body roll. I can literally go around a sharp corner at 80Mph which is a tad bit stupid as it defies the laws of physics. I also felt that driving was too easy. There was no sense of punishment if you drove like a psycho. For example, If I were to flip a car onto its roof, I could actually turn the wheels and flip it back.

I'm also quite angry that Rockstar killed off many interesting and somewhat iconic GTA cars (Perennial, Esperanto, Virgo, Stallion, Blista Compact, Uranus, Sabre, Moonbeam, Admiral, Yankee, Tampa, Slamvan, Turismo, PMP 600, Merit, Dukes, Fortune, Faction, Contender, Cavalcade FXT, Solair, Willard, Vincent, Hakumai, Pinnacle).

And finally, the soundtrack. Nine plus radio stations to choose from and only two that have any decent music. Of course music is a subjective thing, but to me the soundtrack actually seems worse than IV's. I also found the original score that would play during missions to be a bit intrusive and distracting.

Bought the game two weeks ago, I'm selling it tomorrow.

The first thing that absolutely stroke me weren't the graphics or the so-much-praised lighting effects, but the size of the map and its undeniable beauty. I've seen many video games with a huge ass map, but this is probably the prettiest. I mean, San Andreas had a very large map too, but the lack of detail and realistic effects was palpable so the surroundings were really bad (we can blame it on the graphics, obviously, but I think GTAV actually had much more attention paid to the actual Southern Californian landscape). It's also great to see wild animals for the first time, unless you're walking in the woods at night and a puma or a wolf attacks you and kills you. But that's another story...

That said, I don't think this is a great game.
I bought and played all the chapters of the saga (Except the very first GTA and GTAII and the portable console versions) and this is one of the most disappointing ones for me.
The game is so massive and dispersive that beside the storyline missions, all the rest was completely unattractive to me.
It's kinda hard to explain, so I'm gonna do it as better as I can: I played San Andreas for years after the completion of the storyline, because it was fun!
You could plug another joystick in and play aimlessly with your buddies, and that was the funniest thing ever!
You could jump off the tallest skyscraper while riding a bike and survive!
You could steal a train and stare at it while it sped up and inevitably derailed!
You could look for Bigfoot or the aliens in the countryside at night (so scary!), use the jetpack, destroy hundreds of cars with a tank!
...and all of that was so entertaining.

Even though in GTAV the plot is nice, the dialogues are great to listen to and there are some exciting moments during the gameplay, the fun factor is very weak.
Absent, I would say.
This game just isn't funny.
It's an artistic masterpiece and visually pleasing, no one could deny it. But it's boring. There's so much sh*t you can do while free roaming, that's true, but everything is boring as hell! Why would I watch a movie at the theatre? Why would I go play golf, or tennis, or scuba diving? Or worse... YOGA?! The abundance of things to do is impressive, but they're so realistic and boring that you just don't feel like doing anything and eventually turn your console off and go for a real walk in the park.
My suggestion is: rent this game or borrow it from a friend. Enjoy the storyline, which will satisfy any Rockstar aficionado, but as soon as it's over get rid of it.

To sum up: the game is BEAUTIFUL. Everything about it is beauty. It represents southern California and Los Angeles in a flawlessly realistic way. So realistic it's boring.

Me, me, me against them, me against enemies, me against friends, somehow they all seem to become one, a sea full of sharks and they all smell blood.

So they continue the serious tone which was introduced in IV. That's one big error alone already. The III era and then especially San Andreas was full of humor. Yes, it was all about gangs and the whole culture around it, but it had funny dialogue. I still play San Andreas myself. By the way, at the time that it came out the graphics were decent. Also, it was then all about the gameplay and graphics were second. That's how it should be. San Andreas ain't popular without reason. Sure, in SA there were already things like going to the barber and tattoo shop and buying clothes for respect and sex appeal or visit the gym to train muscles and loose weight and you could also bet (first on horse races, later in the casino). Oh and then i forget the food offcourse. But that was it. If i hear these things now of playing golf, visit the theater and such in GTA V, then you almost would think that you play the sims instead of playing a criminal and finish dirty jobs.
And i guess that San Fierro and Las Venturas aren't included, as they were in SA. Mount Chiliad would be included.

Looks like we have a PC release date. Maybe

Quote:
Amazon has seemingly revealed that GTA 5 will release for PC in early 2014 and that Rockstar Games will make an official announcement in the coming days. According to a report by Dsogaming from Dec. 22, a couple of international Amazon customer service representatives have publicized a March 2014 release date for Grand Theft Auto V on PC in North America and Europe.

According to Amazon’s support agents, GTA 5 for PC will be released in North America on March 12 and go on to release in Europe on March 14

Two representatives from Amazon have corroborated the March 2014 release date. The first Amazon support, from Germany, stated that GTA 5 PC “will be announced on 12/24” and then continued to mention the North American and European release dates. Find the full translated statement below:

““Welcome to Amazon Chat. My name is Fatima [...]. According to our information, GTA V PC will be announced on 12/24 and according to our source; it will be released in the USA on 03/12 and here on 03/14.”
