If a log isn't produced, it is more serious than just a game crash. Does your computer restart when it crashes? If yes, that's indicative of hardware issues (bad RAM, overheating CPU/GPU, bad GPU, bad motherboard, failing PSU, etc.).

I know it says cc is the cause. Is this one item that I should look for or should I start fresh?I have thousands of downloads.I'm addicted to downloading cc.

Not necessarily. The component(s) that are failing need to be replaced though. If you do decide to get a new computer, make sure it has 4 GiB of RAM or more.

The first thing I would do is get Ambitions updated. Download and run this to do so:
http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownload...9001_Update.exe

If that doesn't fix it, then yeah, try running the game without custom content.

The updated version of CLA (out about 12 hours ago) will now give "Warning: Updates available..." before "Warning: Custom Content" if the game isn't current. Your post reminded me to do that.

Hi, first off I'd like to thank you for this program. I've been playing Sims 3 since it was released and have never had a problem with it. In fact its always run smoothly until a few days ago. It started crashing to desktop after anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes of game play and once it even crashed to restart the computer.

I'm most concerned with the fact that it seems to be misreading my processor. I'll post my computer specs as well as the crash log, in case its misreading anything else.

Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.100427-1636)
System Manufacturer: System manufacturer
System Model: Rampage Formula
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 2048MB RAM
Page File: 1022MB used, 2917MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Then the cash log:

Processor Name: Intel Pentium III Xeon processor
Processor Architecture: x86
Graphics Processor: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series

Games Installed: The Sims™ 3 (1.8.25.003001)
Custom Content: Yes (964 found)

I've already tried removing custom content and deleting my caches and it didn't change. It seems to crash completely randomly. Is it normal for it to say I have that processor? or is that a problem? Thanks in advanced ^_^

It doesn't use the processor name to determine anything so even if it was correct, it will still form the same conclusions. I will look into maybe getting the processor name from another source though.

So one or more of those crashes happened when there was no custom content installed? If so, I have to assume its conclusion is correct: your computer needs more RAM.

At the same time, it is very unlikely the same crash would occur at the same address if it were because of inadequate memory. Perhaps something in the game is corrupt be it a save or custom content, or even official content.

Perhaps one or more of your custom content are not compatible/conflict with Barnacle Bay? That would be the most logical explaination.

2 things, first, it says I'm missing a patch for world adventures (in other words 2 whole expansions ago) how do I update this if I've already downloaded new content on top? I seriously hope I don't have to uninstall the previous two expansions!

Secondly, I've got 4 DEP problems, even though I've stopped my computer executing all sims 3 games like the site told me too. However the signs still come up? I'll post the first...

How do i go about figuring that out, i could simply Uninstall Barnacle Bay. But then id run into this problem again once i reinstall it to play within the town, i was looking forward to moving my new sims into the town. Hmmm have to wait till later. i dont have alot of time to sift through all my cc to find out what is not compatible/conflicting with the town.

Edit: I decided to run my game with Barnacle bay, Started a new Save with the town, and everything seems fine, maybe my save file was currupted or something, ill try moving the said family i have to a new save. and seeing how that works. I am hoping i wont have to do an uninstall of BB. i actually like the world.

2 things, first, it says I'm missing a patch for world adventures (in other words 2 whole expansions ago) how do I update this if I've already downloaded new content on top? I seriously hope I don't have to uninstall the previous two expansions!

The þatch Downloader can get you the patches you need:

Secondly, I've got 4 DEP problems, even though I've stopped my computer executing all sims 3 games like the site told me too. However the signs still come up? I'll post the first...

CLA doesn't delete any logs unless you tell it to (top left menu). So, if there was 4 DEP crashes, you fix DEP, and your run CLA again. It will still show 4 DEP crashes. Delete the logs if you want to wipe the slate clean.

so i checked the site you gave me to the link to, Ran Delphys dashboard, and to my amazment, i had currupted and duplicated CC in my game folder. Hmmm..so i removed all that was duplicated, fixed the currupted and i was able to play the game for 8hrs straight without a single crash. guess that was what the warning msg was telling me. i had duplicate files and currupted files.

It defaults to that warning message if >10 custom content are found and it has no better ideas (DEP, RAM, wrong executable, update game, etc.). XD

I just wanted to actually write and say thankyou so much for the time and effort you have put into this tool. After multiple crashes on a clean, cc free game with a brand new high end computer I was about to sadly give up on Sims 3. Luckily, with DEP fixed I'm good to know. Your help and all of the others on MTS2 has been literally priceless to me.

Hi!

Some friend of mine has problems with the game. We used your tool to analyze the dump file. The tool reported:

Processor Name: Intel Pentium III Xeon-Prozessor
Processor Architecture: x86
Graphics Processor: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series

Games Installed: Die*Sims™*3 (1.17.60.009002), Die Sims™ 3 Reiseabenteuer (2.10.5.008002), Die Sims™ 3 Late Night (6.0.81.009001)
Custom Content: Yes (67 found)

[WARNING WRONG EXE] 10.01.2011 17:22:20

What does this mean? Thx for a quick answer

TS3SP02 is the Fast Lane executable (odd, your games installed doesn't mention Fast Lane) but you should be running TS3EP03 which is the Late Night executable. The easiest way to fix that is to navigate to TS3EP03.exe and run it directly. By default, it is found here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 Late Night\Game\Bin

It will be a little different being that it is a German version.

I should also point out that 1.18/6.1 updates are available.

I have installed the basic game, WA, HEL, Ambitions and Late Night. Versions are 1.18/2.13/3.9/4.6/6.1

At first, the crash log analyzer said it had custom content problems, but removed everything and the game still crashes.

Then I ran Delphy's Dashboard and found that the "Deltabuild_p02.package" (\GameData\Shared\Deltapackages\p02) files were corrupted (from each expansion pack) and also the "Deltabuild0.package" of the base game, but the program could not fix them and when I copied the original files from the DVDs the files were still corrupted.

Also, another problem that I have, but seems like I've fixed it when removing mods and cc, not quite sure, is that my sims sometimes get frozen and cannot start any other action, also sometimes they dissapear and "resetsims" not always works. Don't know if this has something to do with the errors shown from crash log analyzer.

Pleeease can you lend me a hand??

I think the only thing left to try is to move the user data from My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 to some other folder where the game can't find it. You might have a corrupted save.

Hmm, if there's a corrupted save, is there a way of fixing it? or saving the active family or at least a sim in another save file? (without losing abilities, belongings, etc.)

You can try using the automatic backup but it might be corrupt too. Go to:
C:\Users\Admin\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves

Move <townname>.sims3 out of that folder (to the desktop or something).

Rename <townname>.sims3.backup and remove the ".backup" so it appears the same as the other file: <townname>.sims3

You can always move The Sims 3 directory back to the Documents/Electronic Arts folder and TS3 will use it. The main goal is to rule out that the problem is caused by something in that folder (custom content, corrupt save, corrupt caches, etc.).

If you haven't already, you could Delete the cache files from one of the CLA menus. There's really no downsides to doing so which means it might be worth a shot.

Well, I tried it and yes, the problem was the corrupted save file, unfortunately, the backup is corrupted too, so I'll just have to backup from the .legacy file .
Anyway, thanks for your help
