Default Sims won't walk onto platform
I'm sure this should go into a "stupid random questions" thread, but if there is one, I failed to find it.

My sims stomp their feet, unable to enter the lot. The entrance looks like this:

Is there something wrong that you can see? It's a platform, I cannot attach stairs to it. The community lot is set to "visitors allowed" (which may be a completely random piece of info). This lot is a part of Strangetown 1.2.

There might not be enough tile/platform space between the door and the edge. You can add one stair to a platform, I'm not in game to get the key stroke dammit. Can you try extending the platform out another tile or two to see if that works? You could add platform to the right and left to make it look better if it looks weird extended.

You could also try eliminating the platform from in front of the door.

ETA: I'm in game now and I didn't need to use a special key stroke to add a stair to a platform edge. I thought maybe it was shift or Ctrl while holding the stair. You probably can't add one since the platform is on a diagonal, but then again, I could be wrong.

You don't really need stairs to reach the platform. Besides, stairs can't be placed diagonally. Maybe you should expand the platform since the door is too close to the edge of the platform?

What type of platform is that? A genuine platform or a foundation? Because it looks too tall to be a platform.
Try adding stairs, like everyone else said. Although you won't be able to add them if the platform/foundation is diagonal (like nikel23 said).

No, it's not a dumb question at all - it's the sort of question that comes up when you're trying to build something interesting

There isn't enough tile space - it's essentially only one full tile and they can't stand on the tile and open the door because the door opening requires tile room too. I am surprised you were able to add that door at all, unless you used MOO. You're going to need to have at least two full squares. Disregard the half and quarter squares as they are irrelevant when it comes to stairs, doors and diagonals.

It's possible to add stairs to a diagonal as I've done it 100 times before; but as I've said you're going to need more space - when you add stairs to a diagonal you add to one side of the diagonal and create 'fake' diagonal stairs as shown in the image of one of my builds using diagonals and stairs.

Thanks, adding more space worked! I was able to attach stairs (they look funny, though, just one step).

Happy that you got it to work out! That one step does look a little odd when we get so used to seeing platforms without a stair attached, but from what I've noticed in my games, Sims seem to not stall as long before they step up. Maybe it's only seconds but it looks a lot smoother to me with the step. Before long you might get so used to seeing the step, the platforms without it will look unfinished.

This is like a DejaVu. I was working on Strangetown world couple of month ago, and I made exactly the same entrance of the lot that was supposed to be school. Eveything was same... platform, doors, wal placement, colors... goddamn, nostalgia. I had a lot of fun creating that world, but now it's lost forever.

@fairycake89 :

Where have you gotten those roofs from? I want them in my game NOW! Fences too!

@mixa97sr go to my profile.and find my gypsy caravan builds, all the info is there! I can't post you a link as I'm on my stupid iPad! I believe the fences are the Shang Simla ones from WA - I merely stacked on fence on top of the other.

For the sake of clarification, the lot isn't mine It's from Strangetown 1.2 that I downloaded. This lot is supposed to be a casino, it's inspired by a handheld TS2 game, so I put actual casino items inside from Store, only to find out that sims can't enter the lot
