SimPE
This is my second thread in a day--- hope I'm not violating some rigid MTS rule of forum etiquette. I'm considering, and this somewhat corresponds to my previous thread, to restart my current family in a new neighborhood, as the local vagrant population of townies has gotten out of hands and it obsessively bothers me and deters from playing the game (silly, I know).
I have extracted my Sims' appearances into BodyShop and then in game, but I cannot figure out how to use SimPE to edit them once in game. My family has four teens and two parents who are elders, I realize you cannot start a new game without adult when you have minors, so I plan to age up the parents to elders in SimPE. The eldest daughter is a young adult in college, so I will make her based off her extracted image in Create a Student, and then reconnect her family ties in SimPE. Then I want to get their education levels, job titles, skills, etc., all paired up with how they are in my other save. Problem being.... I cannot figure out how to do this in SimPE and can find no help on the internet. Can someone please:
1) Let me know if the steps I have described are safe and not prone to causing corruption
2) Give me a step by step instruction of how to edit a Sim in SimPE --------------------
Thank you so much! I feel like I'm mooching off the knowledge base here, but today is my off day and I really appreciate the help!

It would be better if you would use the in-game cheat or the SimBlender to age up your adults to elders and send the teen daughter to college and let the game age her up to young adult.
Then you can fix every thing else in SimPE. http://simpeforum.ambertation.de/si...und-Up-Tutorial

After you extracted the sims I hoped you cloned them and deleted the extracted sim in body shop. You use the clones as they are clean and the extracted sims are not.

Some things it's easier to do in SimPE; some things it's easier to do in the game with the testingcheats. Skills can be set in SimPE, but they don't always operate properly - someone with cooking skill raised in SimPE may not be able to cook all the dishes she should, for example. Drag those up with the testingcheats. You need to set the relationships in SimPE twice, once in Family Ties and once in Relationships.
When you open an individual in SimPE, you will find a number of tabs with different information. Go through them systematically. Job levels can be set under the Career tab.
If you can't find these tabbed sections, open the sim using the SimBrowser instead of however you're doing it. This will take you directly to them. Most of them are self-explanatory.

Thank you all for the responses. I cannot select any Sims in SimPE, nothing will load, and I fear that this has to do with having the Ultimate Collection. My SimPE is for Mansion and Gardens. How can I fix this so that I can actually use SimPE? Thank you again. <3

How long have you left SimPE alone for? It's a known drama queen. I wish I knew more about the UC but my game is all separate EP's.
Edit: Glad to see Andrew knew of something. I have a weird thing here that I know someone has posted (Andrew) but I don't see their post for many minutes so I had no idea what he had posted.

Hi Andrew, thank you. I tried the steps listed in the thread, but like a few other people complained in that thread, it didn't seem to work. I think I will try to do all this stuff in game with BoolProp. Does anyone know if it is safe to change relationships, skills, lifetime happiness, school, and career status in BoolProp, and how if so, do you do it? I know, a lot of questions. Appreciative as always.

You can toggle permaplat on and off using the batbox. (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/s....php?topic=72.0) It can also grant your sims a diploma with the appropriate want/fear slots. You can drag the skills up with the testing cheats, and I think the grades, too? Worth a try. You can get them the job you want with the job notice board, available here at MTS, and I think they'll be hired at the level appropriate to the skillset? I could be wrong about that. Drag the skills up first, and find out.
Back up the neighborhood first (just copy the neighborhood folder to another location), so if you break anything you can go back to the beginning.
The testingcheats will give you a bewildering number of options, but I don't think it can do relationships. If it can, it'll be through the Tombstone of Life and Death, which you'll have to spawn. SimBlender can, though.

I would be more inclined to use the bat box, sim blender and sim manipulator in game to change things.

Are the Simblender and SimManipulator compatible? Or do you choose one or the other? Thanks!

Simblender and Sim Manipulator are different mods by different modders that broadly do the same sort of thing. Some people use both at once and it (usually) seems to work ok, but the late mootilda, who I believe was the greatest authority on all TS2 things, pointed out that all your mods are loaded into memory when you start your game, so if two mods modify the same BHAV, the last one loaded "wins". For this reason I would suggest using one or the other, but not both at once. The Sim Manipulator is definitely still actively supported by its creator on the forum to which marka93 linked, but I'm not sure about the SimBlender. I think I've heard that TwoJeffs is/are no longer active.
Personally I use the Sim Manipulator, because it is supported, and, anyway the SimBlender needs Pets or a higher EP, and my highest EP is OFB.

Yes I use them all, that's why I mentioned all three. The blender is an object, it doesn't negate the manipulator or vice versa, even the Bat box has some of the same things, but each offers one or two unique features the other doesn't.

TwoJeffs retired a few years ago, so the SimBlender is not supported ( I guess I should say I'm not sure if BO would provide support for it, since he's the only active modder on Simbology). The SimManipulator is created/supported by Aaroneous at the link mentioned above.
