Can wallpapers be made layerable? Has anyone done somethin like this? It would really cut back on the need to have a bazillion walls if it could/ was done. I would so love to be able to mix and match wood, stone, or brick with any of the stucco, paint, or wallpapers in various shades of color. Also, in various pieces so some could have none, top or bottom, both or only. I know I saw somewhere and might still have it downloaded that someone did trim that you can add to the wall, but that has to be done piece by piece.

Oh, and just as a note ... I'm so inept at doin things I fail at even makin wallpaper. I am that good :P

Its this one? And yes, it's a nice idea. I think it could be made in a similar way those reflective walls I saw somewhere were made, those ones are overlays you put over the painted walls.

They can study cooking either as toddlers with a toy or with a book/TV quite quickly as a child. I usually find kids with at least 3 points don't burn them that often.

Those aren't what I was talkin about, but I do like them so gonna grab them. That's wood ... I wonder if anyone did any in stone, rock, or brick.

What I was referin to were actual pieces you placed on the wall like deco. I want to say that it was Numenor and/ or MaryLou ... but don't quote me on that as my memory left along time ago and didn't leave a forwardin address.

Edit: So I had to go look and my memory was actually good this time :D

I think it wold be interesting to make some famous syntetics/androids as a default servo. For axample Lt.comm. Data or Lore from Star Trek TNG, David or Walter from Alien Covenant, Nick Valentine from Fallout 4 and so on. Female version can be made frome famous female androids. I was surprised that nobody created something like this still. Nobody likes humanlike androids as much as I love them? I don't believe!

I haven't seen crowns and moldings like the ones by Numenor that you linked to, but CatherineTCJD who made those wooden ones in Velvetina's post also made these:

Brick and stone edges:

Wallpaper, tile, etc. borders:
http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=422783

PIxelhate made grungy beat-up versions of the wooden ones:
http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=309078

Pixelhate also made metallic effect overlays. These might be what Velvetina mentioned in her post:

Thanks to Crmelsimlover for sharing these rare Christianlov mods for TS2: Cpack editor with working face DNA fixer and Skin Selector Painting Prototype. Instructions for adding custom skins to Skin Selector at post #37 here. Instructions for using the DNA fixer at post # 2662 here .

Yeah, I saw those too. This is what I was meaning. To be able to make the exterior brick, rock, wood, siding with a mixture of each other.

The closest I've seen is the one based off sherahbim's steampunk robot skin. I tried to find a link but the only readme I have mentions Garden of Shadows. The default replacement uses an androgynous sim form, I think because both male and female servos use the same body base.
Now what dammit?

Ah yes, the poster overlay - really useful. I've considered making trims extracted from the many papers I have for that and then deleting all the variants but what puts me off is all the decorating I've done with stuff in the past and having to go back and redo it. Maybe I should start with the trims from my own wallpapers/wall sets but then I don't tend to make too many variant wall sets. You could use the overlay to do pilasters and quoins (I believe there are some quoins already around but I think they're objects not overlays).

Edit: ah yes, these - I don't like the gaps right at the corner actually: http://modthesims.info/d/246020

There would be copyright issues if famous androids were used.

I have some robot skintones in my game, it helps to make sims look like robots, but not makes robots look like sims (( Of course, I have all androgynous humanlike servo replacements. If I see simething like that, I download It immeditely :-)
But my main idea was to make humanlike servo, that acts like servo, but looks like human in game. And connected with some fandom.
Maybie it is possible to piece (to merge) all meshes of prepared sim (body+clothes+hair) in one mesh and to give it program attributes of servo? As far as I know, servo represents the one mesh.

Thank you for explation. I didn't know it. But it is a good assistance for making servo twins (as Data/Lore, David/Walter or anyone else). One of them can technically have another gender and different hair or eyes colors.

For what it matters, you can make a Sim in CAS, and then change a certain value in SimPE to turn them into a servo. It works rather nicely without the weird issue of aging them down/up where they revert to the robotic appearances.

BlueAlien, that's not true under most country's intellectual property laws. Since you wouldn't be marketing them for personal gain, they'd fall under "fair use," as most fanfic, fanart, parody, and educational uses do. The exception would be if the actor/artist felt that the work was being used in such a way as to bring them into disrepute. If you look at real intellectual property cases, they're usually either a nuisance tactic (like the woman who sued J.K. Rowling for using the word "Muggle", claiming plagiarism), defense of a brand (like DC Comics suing an unrelated corporation using a muscly red-and-blue-clad superhero in advertising), or a defense of reputation (as when artist Wally Wood was sued by Disney for his porn comics using recognizable Disney characters with trademarked names. He claimed parody, but his renditions of the characters were simply too good.)

Except for a few very low-playful-points creators (like Anne Rice) and corporations with lawyers on retainer who don't have enough to do and use policing the trademark as an excuse to cruise the web during work hours (like Mattel in the 90s), fan uses like this are signs of popularity and copyright holders are thrilled to know they're out there, though it's not really a good idea for them to go looking for it or respond to it, in case a genuine lawsuit comes up and for personal peace of mind.

So unless you're going to make a realistic poster featuring Data espousing some real-world political or cultural position without running it by Brent Spiner first, copyright should not be a serious concern.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

Though please bear in mind any recognisable commercial images have to follow the upload rules about credits and persmissions (as does any materials not made by yourself). That's not copyright law, it's the rules here.

OMG, thank you! I used the aging method, but I had goodknown problems with it.

I never thought that making sims lokk alike famous pople/characters would be copyright issues. There so many celebrity sims, movie, anime, book characters for downloading all ower the internet.
ModTheSims: amazing content, English practicing, law learning..I'm loving it!

But...I slill think it shoud be more servo replacements for Sims 2. There are so many cool robot characters from films, computer games.. I think, Sims 2 servos has a big unrelized potential.

Here is something that I would like to see:

You know how Phaenoh came out with this mod (http://www.modthesims.info/d/453509) to play the Apoc challenge so you don't have to remember every rule?

I wish there was a similar one for BACC. I have a hard time remembering all the rules, especially since I don't get to play that often. I would really like a ruleset mod like that.

A mod that loops through the sim flipping news paper pages between interactions in the queue without putting that thing down everytime.

Yeah, that would be interesting. Might attempt at it whenever I start into modding. Not sure what they would include, but one thing comes to my mind: each mob that disables respective yet-to-unlock career. Then there could be one that renders pizza and chinese food delivery useless, disables alarms and erases out emergency interaction on phone.
