I've read that ts2 doesn't work with windows 8, so I would be :trying: to get windows 7 on it instead.. I know nothing about computers and would like someone's advise as to whether or not this computer would work good for ts2 and all of the ep's and sp's. (I don't know if this is the appropriate place to post this.. if it's not, so sorry!)

The suggested computer does seem to have an integrated graphic chip and no dedicated graphics card. It's not a good idea to use it for sims 2 with all eps.
Which country are you buying from and what is your budget?

I'm buying from the United States and was hoping to spend $800 or less. Hopefully that's a reasonable budget!

I've been looking up the specifications for sims 2 and oh my gosh. Is it even possible to find a good, cheap, new computer that can run it?! :P

I've never heard of AVATAR brand, but price wise thats a decent find. It should run the sims 2, without problems. Don't forget to add the cost of a screen if you don't already have one.

Hey! So, I have kind of the same question:
I'm going to buy a new computer for playins sims, I have already a computer were I only play sims on, but it's kind of old and not so good anymore. And with the release of sims 4 I would like to buy a new one (I have a laptop but the graphic card is shit).

So my question is, can anyone help me with finding a good computer NOT laptop for my sims 2 and the upcomming sims 4 (and maybe I'm gong to give sims 3 a shot too). I'm also cc addicted and have now 7,90 GB of cc for sims 2, so when cc for sims 4 is released, I'm gonna attack.

Anyway, I've found these 2 computers, they are the same but with 2 different graphic cards, GeFroce GT 635 or GeForce GT 625 , which will work best? And are they like bad, average good or really good for playing sims?
The links of the 2 computers (I'm from belgium so it's in Dutch) (Idk if you can translate it or something)

If those 2 are like bad, can you give me like names of graphic cards that are very good and some other things I need to have? (I'm a noob when it comes to processors and stuff) I do knwo that i would like to have at least 1 Terrabyte of space and 8GB RAM.

So, computer kings, if you can help me sort this out, I love you! :D

puddingfishcake, can you start your own thread please? It'll be easier for the people helping you. Also, what is your budget? I'm assuming you're buying from belgium, is that right? Do you already have a computer screen. keyboard and mouse?

are both slightly more popular brands, falling on either side of the AMD/Intel divide. Personally, I'd go for the AMD machine and maybe use that extra $$$ to pick up my copy of Windows 7 and maybe squeeze in an OS SSD if I could find one on sale.

Basically the bottom line advice is: Do not shop at Best Buy for computers. Best Buy is overpriced and sells old stock for new prices.

What exactly is an OS SSD? And would that AMD computer work good for all ep's, sp's, and alot of cc?

OS SSD = Solid State Drive for your Operating System. AMD chips are pretty comparable to Intel ones up until you hit the very newest and best ones.

That helped alot! Thank you! What size OS SSD should I consider? I won't have a whole lot of money to spend on one.

Don't get anything smaller than 120GB. 250GB is recommended. If your budget doesn't allow for a 120GB SSD just don't buy one. It helps and makes your computer faster, but it's not a necessity.

That's an external drive - one you plug in with a USB cable. You want an internal one.

I know I haven't posted in this for a couple of months, but I FINALLY have the money to buy a computer. I'm think this one is what I will be buying, but I'd just like to make sure it would run the game good! I probably sound paranoid, but I just want to make sure the computer will work before I spend so much money! Thanks in advance! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16883227578
