If I recolorize some of the base game patterns; do I need to upload them separately in order for them to show up on a sim that I upload that is wearing them, and then mention that they need to download the patterns too?

I was wondering because I have downloaded other people sims, and sometimes their recolorized patterns do not always show. Is this because their pattern needs to be downloaded separately, or because sometimes for whatever reason patterns sometimes just show up blank even though the person tried to include them?

The patterns should show up without extra downloads unless they are the EA store bought ones.
