SimPE is a program that lets you modify Sims 2. From simple things such as tweaking your neighborhoods, to modding the game. You can download it here: http://sims.ambertation.de/en/download/realdownload/

You can check polycounts of hair or objects, fix relationships if they go wonky and more, it is a really useful tool.

the name is short for Sims2 Package Editor.
and like that name implies, it can edit the files with PACKAGE extension. it can also work with several more file types of this game; I do not remember all those extensions.

Yes every sim 2 player should download simPE. Do not just click around indiscriminately and always back your game up before using it. It does a huge lot of things from simple to very complex.
