Most Creative would be The Swinger's Club, also I would include a Chess Club, a Salon & Spa, a Strip Club, and a Casino.

I once had a Count Dooku Sim that had half a dozen Servo selling businesses. Nobody tell the Jedi.

My most used business would probably be the bookstore. There's something oddly soothing about running a Sims bookstore. I don't really do the same business twice in one neighbourhood though, so I'll usually only make one every few years. Still, that's more than most other types of businesses. I've never played a restaurant business before, for example. They're just so hard to make profitable! But they're a ton of fun.

When I have trouble making a business profitable, like a Resturant, I add a Bandatron and charge a small amount.

@FOZZA303 can you go into specifics of how you run your bookstore? I've always wanted to do one. Did you sell written novels from the sims in your store?

I don't know if my ideas are all that creative as far as types of businesses. Maybe the social ballroom I did a post on a few weeks ago, just because I've never seen anyone mention that kind of business model before (can't blame them, it's not that profitable)

I only have a restaurant, bakery, dance studio, brothel and gentleman's club, produce farm, pet shop, and then used to have a flower shop but that sim moved and it shut down when she did. So I guess 'food-related' businesses is what I have most of. I do have a vineyard business lot set up but no one to run it yet.

Uh oh! My social bar is low - that's why I posted today.

Not sure where I learned this (it was either the manual or an FAQ, can't remember which) but if you mark the bookcase for sale, it'll work like a clothes rack or produce bin. It will sell books instead of the bookcase itself, and it'll eventually need restocking. The bookcase sells three premade books which will appear in the inventory of NPCs and your own playable sims when they buy. The books just function as regular books though. If you put them away at home, they just disappear, so it's mostly just flavour stuff to allow your sims to run a bookshop. I've never tested selling novels. Maybe they show up after a neighbourhood sim publishes a book? Who knows, I've never tried it.

After that, pick a nice secluded spot in the neighbourhood, include a reading area and a magazine rack or two, and bam, you have a bookshop!

I think mine must be my Charity Shop , which takes donations from neighbourhood sims.
