Default A question about CC websites
I know that someone might have asked before. I apologize if this question is similar to someone else's. Which websites are the safest for downloading Custom Content? The ones that don't give the computer a virus?

I usually just download from The Sims 3, Mod the Sims, and NRAAS.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say if the mod doesn't include a DLL (script mod) it's probably safe.

I've found even the more obscure Russian and Chinese websites are safe if you're up to date with computer protection and exercise common sense uBlock Origin should kill the nasty ads, and an up-to-date antivirus is more than enough for downloaded files. The common sense part is simply being aware which download button gives you what you want

Tip for you. Let the item completely download and don't be fooled by "you need to update your computer ads" when you download items. Don't click on weird links within the download page. Sometimes when downloading or going to links you get jumped to other weird pages. I've found a lot of older links will be dead or take you to "suspect" hijacked pages.

Well it is a known fact to be cautious when downloading stuff from the internet, and by all means you should try to be as safe as possible when looking for Sims stuff especially considering there are a lot of jerks who like to disappoint and corrupt ones computer. Though I can name a few but do you want links or just names? for names here are a few:

The Sims Resource (Has tons of stuff and if you sign up you can search by name what you want)

Sims 3 Updates (Has many different things with links to websites, but be extremely cautious and don't download stuff that has no name of what website it is from, considering it redirected me to sites that screwed up my browser, if you do get redirected somewhere with a pop up saying your computer is infected DON'T click a thing or call any numbers just close out your browser by ending task using the task manager on your computer, this is a scam that many stupid jerks try to pull)

Mod the Sims (obiously) only thing I don't like about this site is they have package files only normally and I prefer Sims3 files that I can just download to my game

And of course the Sims 3 store website it's self though it sucks because you have to pay for sims 3 store points to download stuff from there, I prefer free considering I technically already spent a fortune on EA over the years for sims 3 expansion packs and extra content.

there are a few others too if you know where to look, just always keep in mind that there are jerks out there who look to piss you off and mess up your computer with viruses. So always be careful when looking for stuff to download and not just for sims cc.

I've regularly downloaded mods and custom content without any issues from:

Mod the Sims
(CC, Mods, Lots, Worlds, Sims, etc.)
TFM's Naughty Sims Asylum (registration required)
http://simsasylum.com/tfm/
Simlogical
http://www.simlogical.com/ContentUp...ploadsIndex.htm
Around the Sims 3
http://aroundthesims3.com/objects/index.html
The Sims Resource
https://thesimsresource.com/downloa...skipsetitems/1/
Various Simblrs (Tumblr)
NRaas (game mods)
http://nraas.wikispaces.com/
Misc. Others

I've found some awesome Simblrs by checking out the signatures of some MTS members here. Then that leads to more Simblrs, and more great posts and stuff

I also like to check out desiree-uk reblogs and likes page every couple of days (more like daily) for new CC and Mods.
