Default SimCity Offline is LIVE!
That's right you guys, it's happened! I got an email a little bit ago about it.
Here's the article.

I think most people stopped playing ages ago. Seems a bit late in the day to me.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
I'm here on tumblr and my site, tflc

Yes, you can now play SimCity offline as long as you log into Origin first. Yippee.

Wondering why we need another thread. I posted the update and added another post to an existing thread. Oh well the more the merrier.

They call me The Seeker.
I've been searching low and high.

Shouldn't this be in the SC sub forum?

There's a sub-forum? For some reason I can't find it.

I think I would get this game if bigger cities become possible. Offline mode is a step in the right direction, though.

It's a step in the right direction, too bad it took them a year to roll it out. I doubt this is going to attract much of a new crowd to the game especially after all the bad press that the game has had twelve months to accumulate. But at least the people who shelled out for it already have some good news.

Ahh, the woes of DRM!
I know that Steam lets you play games offline with the client in offline mode as long as you've already downloaded and launched the game once. Presumably Origin has something similar?
(Granted, that's completely useless if you have DLC and SimCity does the same thing that Mass Effect 3 does - you can launch the game offline fine, but the game then phones home to 'verify' the DLC and if it can't find a connection, it won't load the DLC. Making 'offline mode' useless. But, I don't have the new SC so I have no idea if it does that.)
