This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Really strange time glitch.
This is the first time this has happened to me. I tried to google this but couldn't find anything. All of my households are having a strange problem; time keeps jumping back whenever the lot reloads.
This is kind of hard to explain, so this is exactly what happens.
  • I load the lot, and the time is 8am on a Tueday (for example).
  • My Sim gets through the day, and goes to sleep.
  • Wakes up at 7am on Wednesday, goes to a community lot.
  • Done at community lot and comes back home.
  • The time for some reason jumps back to 8am on a Tuesday, even though it should really be the time that I left for the community lot.

This also happens if I SAVE and quit, no matter what time or day it is, for some reason now it will always end up as 8am on a Tuesday next time the lot loads.
This really pisses me off as I lose a bunch of progress.

This happens in all neighbourhoods and all households (jumps back to the time that the lot was loaded).

I HAVE removed all custom content, did not change a thing.
Do I need to reinstall?

First try this, remove the complete Sims 2 folder our of My Doc and place it on your desktop and start up the game and test if it is working as it should.

Umm, I just did that and now there are no neighbourhoods so I can't do anything.. Should I just leave the neighbourhoods folder in?

No, download one from my section and see what happen http://modthesims.info/member.php?u=7749491 or download one from "meet me at the river" http://meetme2theriver.livejournal.com/63030.html

ADD: This way I will know you are testing in a good clean hood.

The neighbourhoods should have regenerated when you did that. Sounds like a problem with the game files. Which version of the game are you running and which version of Windows?

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
I'm here on tumblr and my site, tflc

I tried this with your hood Old Town and it crashed while attempting to create Pets on the loading screen.

@maxon:

I am running Windows 7. I have all EPs and a few SPs (including M&G), and I am 100% sure that they are all patched.

If my game can't be saved, I guess I'll just reinstall using the Ultimate Collection. So it won't be too much of a hassle at least. But I just want to know if there is any chance that I could fix this.

With it not gen up any new hoods, did you delete the org. hoods in the programs folder?

It is starting to sound like it is the install of your game that is broken.

Make sure you uninstall all EP/SP's then the base game before you install UC.

Does sound a bit broken.

If I reinstall, can I move over my old custom content and families?

yes, but don't remove the families from the neighbourhoods otherwise corruption, just move the entire hood

Save everything from your 'The Sims 2' folder. So hoods, downloads, painting etc. Easiest is just click copy on The Sims 2 folder and paste to your desktop.

An alternative to reinstalling would be to replace the files/folders in the Program Files directory with their disc equivalents; if you have the discs.

I tried this. But it didn't fix anything . So I just uninstalled everything and installed the UC, which took a bajillion years to download. And it's fixed! Yay
