Default Easter Sale Hauls
So, now that the sale is about over, I'm curious: what did everyone who took part decide to get?

I'm normally a spectator when it comes to the Store (except for Roaring Heights and the Boardwalk. God help me, I just wanted a Poirot-friendly world.) I caved though, and snagged some PC items I'd been eyeing for a while. The chicken coop, the multitab, the violin, the gardening station, the ballet barre (yeah yeah, I know), and the harvest stands. Probably won't even get a chance to try anything out until next weekend, but hey! New things to do, no matter how janky they are.

How about you? Did you favor build/buy, a venue? Maybe a world? I'll admit, Lunar Lakes did kind of tempt me, but I've spent enough now, I think.

I coupled the sale with the Daily Deal, finishing off compilation sets, and using the "Make Me an Offer" button to maximize my savings.

Since the sale was only 33% off, I thought many things were still overpriced. However, I did go ahead and snag the bakery venue.

My big get was through MMaO -- I got the gold edition of Aurora Skies for 1620 simpoints. Also through MMaO picked up the Fifth Avenue and Palace of Versailles sets for something around 500 simpoints each.

Since I already had the chicken coop set, I visited the page for the April 2013 compilation set. The sale then allowed me to "purchase" the rest of that compilation set for free. (Which means I got the Tutor of Tudors for nothing.)

Had a handful of pieces from the Ragtime in the Big Easy set (which I got on discount on the MMaO page), so waited for the Daily Deal on that to roll around. Clicked the "Complete your set" button and got the remaining items for 95 simpoints. Then visited the compilation page again and clicked on the Jan 2013 set. Since I now owned the Ragtime in the Big Easy set, I could purchase the Lullabies and Nursery Rhymes set for 70 simpoints. (Basically, the entire Jan 2013 compilation cost me less than $3, if you include buying the handful of random Ragtime items.)

Between my shopping for free "purchases" like that both this month and last, I now own all the compilation sets, and only paid a very small amount of actual money. Mostly I was able to finish the compilations for free, as long as I owned another set in each one.

If I listed everything I got for free since last month, it'd be a long list, but among them: The Live, Laugh, Love set. The gaming tables. The Regency Arcade. The Hollywood Regency Den. The Viva Las Vegas living and bedrooms sets ( I see a huge casino-hotel in my sims' future!). Tutor of Tudors. Future Shock kitchen and living room sets.

There's more, but that gives you an idea...

It's probably faster to just list the items I don't yet own! :D

I didn't purchase any sim points for the sale, but I was able to complete 5 sets, 3 compilations, 2 venues, and pick up a few odds and ends using advertisement points.

Basically this. I did get a couple deco items; not because they were on sale but because I needed them for my simmie's new home.

I managed to get the Best of 2012, April 2012 and January 2012 for about 100 Points as all I needed to bump them up to free was the India hair and clothes. Also got the Moroccan living for free and bought Midnight Hollow all with advertising and registration simpoints. I am one happy treasure hunter, I finally got the Cowplant and the rest of the Magic set not to mention the greenhouse. Was tempted to go for the rock climbing wall, but I figure I'll wait for the next sale. Only have 500 points left and I refuse to buy any unless prices change.

Sadly I got suckered into purchasing simpoints. But I honestly had a field day at the store and bought nearly everything I could possibly want. I left out the chicken and cow PC, but bought 2 of the 3 robot casino tables (they have them in a bundle for 530). I guess the only thing left for me to ponder is the art house with L stair and glass blowing station.

I tempted to get Sunlit Tiles but voted against it. I wish I saved up more simpoints through advertisement though.

The good ol' MultiTab6000! But seriously though, a lot of the things were still fairly pricey, and I only had 775 SimPoints in the bank and I didn't feel like buying more for this sale. But I did get the Island Paradise EP, so I got those freebie hats if they count. Which they don't, but I felt some need to put them in this post.

No shopping at the store this weekend. Grats on those of you that did.

Also, one thing that held me back during this sale was the though that maybe when the release of Sims 4 comes nearer, they might held even better sales at the store, with much bigger discount. You know, to squeeze the last possible credits out of players before they move to the next installment (which I'm not going to do).

That right there. There are a few items in the store that I thought about buying, but I decided I've already thrown too much money at EA and it's their turn to give me something that is not broken out-of-the-box. If they want to generate some goodwill, they should give rebates on the broken stuff we've already bought.

I didn't buy anything, probably because I was trying to figure out who on earth came up with this advertisement for it on the Facebook page:

@writerchick: Damn, that's like Extreme Couponing: EA Edition. I need to learn that technique. :o

I totally understand everyone who stayed away. I know I'll probably be disappointed in at least some of what I got, but what can I say? Curiosity got the better of me.

@Legislacerator: .........? I got nothin'.

Thanks to "Complete Your Set," I snagged the Live Laugh Love set and the Full Tiki Set for free and I was also able to finish off a couple of compilations for only 45 simpoints each. I also grabbed the Quaint Cottage Collection for less than 500 simpoints.
