Default Where can I learn more about motive decay rates? (TS1-TS3 also)
Sorry this is terribly general, but I'm having no luck searching.

I'd like to know more about how the base, idle speed of motive drop is calculated in the Sims games -- I'm posting this under The Sims 4 for lack of a better place to put it, but I'm actually equally curious about other games in the franchise.

Most mods I've seen talk about decay rate in terms of a percentage of the base rate, but I'm figuring that someone probably as data somewhere on what these rates actually are in simulated minutes. If any of this is online somewhere, could someone point me in the right direction?

For TS3, check the "Motives" _XML resource in GameplayData.package.
Keep in mind that there are other factors that influence the decay rate
(other than the mood, specified in that resource itself, I guess also traits,
moodlets and maybe something else too).

Copied to TS3 Modding (for technical discussion it’s fine to use parallel threads per game -- TS3 users wouldn’t find it otherwise). Please keep this on the topic of TS3.
