To many mods?
Hi! I recently spent like half of a day downloading mods, and i thought so many were beautiful and awesome and.. Precious :3
So i realise that my game is abit starting to lag after for a while of playing sims 3 and so check how many cc files i have and well..
is 574 cc files to much? their are some that i don't like because their bad cc in game :$ (Ex: Floting hair, GOSH thats so annoying, ppl that arent the same in game,etc..) but.. not much. But i have a really good computer, if you want to know the info just reply back asking for it (; Btw i use CC magic for the files.. so :P

If you have bad CC that you don't like, there is no point in keeping that CC in the game, so why not remove it?

You don't say whether you are using package files or simpacks. If you are using package files, you can combine them to reduce loading times. Here's a tutorial: http://club-crimsyn.dreamwidth.org/28336.html

Although there is CC that can cause lag, bear in mind that unless you have certain mods that help make the game more stable, the longer you play, the more lag you will get, because even EA-made items and worlds (ESPECIALLY EA-made worlds) often contain things like bad routing and generally shoddily-made stuff that can bork the game. Mods like Error Trap and Overwatch by Twallan can help with that.

"is 574 cc files to much"

I laughed so hard xD I had over 5.000 cc files at one point. Pretty soon I had to learn the art of merging files together to make the load time faster :p

I have 525, but I'm still gonna get more! I recently restarted my whole computer and my 700 mod files went away But I got alot of my stuff back quickly and my game is still working good.

I have over 8GB of CC xD
Thats merged with CC Magic! (It's originally something like 35GB).
I have 35,000 files of CC, not including sliders and Nraas mods.
My game will lag a little, but nothing some performance boosters can't fix.
The game can handle more cc than most people think, it's the bad CC that will cause a major lag.

I sometimes have a lot of mods according to the style I've decided to play, something to consider would be getting dashboard (http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=387006) to ensure that your downloads do not conflict, and crash log analyzer (http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=416883) to help you to understand the cause of any crashes.
I also use programs like overwatch from NRAAS (http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Overwatch) to clean up my game to minimize lagging and if things are really bad, I recommend Saver (http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Saver) to make sure that your game is saved regularly.
