Default Where do you get your CC?
Other than Mod The Sims of course! I'm always looking for new places to steal, ahem, download new stuff from, and I know there are others out there too. And some of your games are absolutely gorgeous!

Right now I mostly get stuff from MTS and GOS.

There are updates to this often, I check every week and there is always something new:

http://simscave.mustbedestroyed.org...php?board=172.0

You might have to register, not sure, but it's worth it.

Also, you can set up a tumblr account and follow various sims 2 tumblrs. I follow several, they're not hard to find and there are always new things to see.

Because I'm a lazy butt, I'll just paste my Sims 2 custom content folder from my bookmarks. I don't even know how many of these links still work.

I hope someone finds something new looking through these.

I reckon that 70-80% of my CC comes from MTS. The rest from wherever I found it, often following links from MTS.

Simcave links mostly. I check there every few days.

There are A LOT of excellent clothes hidden on livejournals and tumblrs, so if you are up to it you could spend weeks going through them. Usually one will lead to the next, just follow links they give on original creators of meshes or some texture they used.

I'd start with trapping, skell, and the trade off. From there you should find enough links to keep you busy for the next year or so.

Creations can be found on my on tumblr.

Banshee, have you cleaned out all the links in the other useful sites thread? It's a wealth of cc download opportunity!

Uh oh! My social bar is low - that's why I posted today.

Seems like my most favorite sites to get my custom content has been here, The Sims Resource, Cyjon, Paladin, and More Awesome Than You. There was a tumbler account based on custom-made clothing for Sims 2, where I found this awesome new business suit that I recolored for one of my Sims.

I don't download much custom furniture, textures for build mode, or other stuff like that since I am rather content with Maxis stuff and I can recolor them myself if needed. I think the majority of my mods are to omit or fix bits of behavior throughout the game.

Plumbob Keep is a major one. They've breathed new life into the game.

To keep the clothes/hair categories from getting too large, you can get default replacements for the Maxis outfits/hairs you don't like.

This is one of my favorite tumblrs, check out the Resources tag for tons of stuff. Also, on the tumblrs, checking out the WCIF tags is useful.

Lots of new to me sites, and some others that I've heard of and some I forgot about! Hopefully other people found some goodies too.

Seems like Tumblr is the hottest place to download things right now. Seems like everyone has moved there! I almost forgot to download iCad's recolors, thanks for the reminder. I used to get clothes from All About Style and LlianaSims, but they seem to have gone the way of the dodo.

My download folder is not going to like me after this.

I suggest get the Compressorizer. It's awesome. Shrunk my download folder by a decent amount and my game doesn't lock up upon loading anymore.

Anyways my bookmark folder is getting filled up as well with all these new sites.

I love http://themedievalsmithysims2.blogspot.com.au/. I want everything in it but have to restrain myself. I've just been on another downloading spree for a medieval community lot I'm currently building.

have downloaded a number of things from here; not sure how much of it is in my game.
have downloaded from moreawesomethanyou; and from insimenator.
have downloaded some CJ and BO mods.

did download from main site when it was active; mainly the Maxiods. yet the computer that had that stuff no longer works.

not sure if I downloaded custom content from other sites.

the rest of my content I created.

The default databases are great places to start.

I always go through intending to de-fuglify my game and by the time I've finished, I have a bulging downloads folder! Every default links to a page with not only lovely default replacements, but quite often non-default versions, and other content too.

I use the sims as a psychology simulator...
