Default Downloads vs SavedSims
which of those 2 folders is bigger?

me::
file count: Downloads, currently 41 files; SavedSims is currently 18 files.
computer memory: SavedSims, currently 182MB; Downloads currently is a little bit over 29MB.

by the way, I do recall similar past threads.

I hardly ever use or have anything in the Saved Sims folder. I have a bit over 37 thousand files in downloads. But I don't think we need another thread on download counts.

Since I create sims in BodyShop more often than IN the game, I'll have many in my Saved Sims folder.
But still, my Downloads folder has way more files in there. Saved Sims folder has only sims in it.

I rarely clone, download or create Sims in Bodyshop, so my Downloads folder is far larger. Second is my packaged lots.

I only use the SavedSims folder as a temporary place for Bodyshop projects, and move them to Downloads when I'm done tinkering with them. I've also taken to save a few accessory and clothing files from my latest projects in there, so the bin numbers don't start over if I remove files from Downloads (which I do to reduce Bodyshop loading time). Currently I've got 14 files there.

SavedSims is for Body Shop stuff that I make myself. Downloads is for stuff other people have made:

SavedSims: 228 files
Downloads: 4,099 Files in 68 Folders

So . . I download far more than I make!

About a third of the files in SavedSims are Sims, probably about a half of them clones of ones extracted from the game. (That includes all the Veronaville Townies, whom I have shared on my LJ for the benefit of anyone playing Tarlia's Veronaville but who still wants the townies. Personally I find Veronaville dead without them.) About two thirds of the files in SavedSims are home-made clothing. I actually messed about in Body Shop creating Sims and clothes for a few days before I first started up my game, so I've never really played without CC.

Probably most of the files in my Downloads folder are Body Shop stuff too. My greatest weaknesses are clothes and hair. I think Maxis did a reasonable job of Everyday clothes for adult and teenage females, but I need CC for everything else. I downloaded my first CC clothes too before I fired up the game -- Andrew started off with both home-made and downloaded CC clothes!

All Sims are beautiful -- even the ugly ones.

The Veronaville kids are alright.
