Default The Sims 4: Is there any way to see all the items on walls while using "half walls up"?
Oh god, I just noticed I posted this on the wrong sims forum, it's supposed to be in sims 4 catagory, any mods out there that can move this?

Hi,

I have been trying to google this question for a while now but I haven't gotten much luck with it. I'm not sure if this is just a Sims 4 issue or not but whenever i use the half walls up option, I can see only some items on the walls (Mostly the items that show up are the ones on the walls where it does still show even if I use the half walls up option).

For example:
Full walls up: http://i.imgur.com/xk5ze2U.png
Half walls up: http://i.imgur.com/Iaoyj50.png

I know it's a silly question since why would I even want to see all the items on the walls since they are just clutter, but for me it makes it more eye pleasing? Only other option I have is to play with the walls fully up but I find that type of gameplay hard since in small rooms you would have to zoom in super close to even do anything in there.

Anyone have a solution? Or is this just part of sims 4

It's the way TS4 is. Each object is given its own rules on when to fade when zooming camera in or out, or go invisible with walls down. The binary files of each wall-mounted decor object would have to be edited individually to stop this behaviour. Some wall-mounted objects don't vanish, - the kitchen cupboards I think? - and I have seen a mod or two out there that makes them vanish with walls down. The complete opposite to what you're looking for, I know, but if you search for those mods (I cannot remember who did them, it was a while back.) you might get an idea of the work involved to achieve what you want.

Though I could see a single batch fix command setting all wall-mounted decor to never vanish. If you use Sims 4 Studio and are a member of the website, you could probably make a request there for such an implementation to the programme. (If it hasn't already been requested.) Sims 4 Studio has a growing number of handy batch fixes for all users, not just modders, to fix CC clothes and objects that have bad settings, such as wearing clothing in shower or to keep some CC up to date with patch changes. Perhaps the makers would oblige on the request. Then again, they might not wish to implement a batch fix that directly alters Maxis own content, seeing as a great many Maxis objects would then get the little CC spanner icon. Though it doesn't hurt to ask, especially if you don't care how many buy mode objects have that pesky CC spanner icon.

Hi! Thank you very much for your detailed response! It definitely helped me understand about the difficulty it would cause for the game and how much work would go in to do such a thing! I think I could just probably live without what I wanted since I have been doing that anyways. But it is a shame when I decorate the walls with a lot of stuff and it just disappears when I change the wall settings. But again, I can live without since the rest of the sims 4 is a great game!

Thank you again!
