Well we already know that woohoo is going to be in the game, as it was even stated that there are now more places to woohoo. Plus, come on, if it existed in Sims 2 when why not in Sims 3? Besides, woohoo looks like there is sex going on but in reality there is no sex going on if you ever were to use a transparent bedding. They just inflate/deflate and wrap around each other (it's very creepy actually, lol).

I agree with Underworld Imp in that it would just be best to sell an adult-oriented pack since it would be optional and kids won't have to have it in their game. This pack can include smoking, drinking, crime, teen woohoo/pregnancy, etc. But it won't happen for two reasons: #1, because Sims has always been known to be family-friendly but with enough spice to make it suitable for minors, and #2, because EP's and SP's are meant to be the same rating as the base game so that everyone can enjoy them and not just ages 18+. How would you feel if you had to wait 6 months for a new EP as usual to then find out it's for 18+ and you are only 13? Then you have to wait another 6 months just for the next EP. It just wouldn't happen. UNLESS the EP would be its own thing and it would not count towards the regular EP's. It would be a special EP for adults only while still another EP would be released around the same time that would be suitable for minors.

They could do an adult stuff pack: The Sims 3 S&M Stuff!

LOL, that would be a riot! S&M with bondage, whips, chains, handcuffs, all that good kinky stuff. LOL

The great thing about an adult pack (which I predict would sell really well!) is that there are no limitations. It would be for 18+ so anything can happen without any worries of influencing minors, etc. There should be at least one adult pack per Sims game and it shouldn't be a stuff pack but an expansion pack because it's going to want to have new animations and revised gameplay.

And as for the title, just keep it simple to make it obvious: The Sims 3 Adults Only Expansion Pack

It won't happen; it would not pay to make different EPs for exclusive age ranges.

Nope it will never happen but I cant say im sad that it is without smoking, drinking etc its supposed to be this perfect little world! Stuff like that would ruin it. I like my sims to be wholesome lol.

I'll bet they still have a 'juice' bar and a 'bubble' blower, so you'll probably be able to improvise.

I would love an adults only EP, considering the amount of adults who play the game. It would be funny coming up with ideas for it!

I know I'm late saying this but just wanted to point out that in the UK the base game of Sims 2 is rated ages 7+.

Ah okay. That's what it is in Portugal, too, as my best friend from there had told me. Jeez, that's embarrassing for us in the U.S. where it has to be a child who is 6 years older than that to play, lol.

All subsequent expansion packs though are rated 12+.
I wonder if the new base game packaging says its 12+ as well?
The 7+ is from the original base packaging design.

That's odd, why would the EP's not be the same as the base game? In the U.S., everything Sims-related is rated T for teen.

At the shopko where i live (michigan) everything is rated T, exept for nightlife, which they have rated M. lol, just thought that might be of interest.

What? NL is rated M? Where? I live in Michigan, too, and it is rated T. That's very strange! I live in the metro Detroit area.

In Australia the whole lot has an M15+ rating because of sexual references.

Yes but there are barely any sexual references. It's all very subtle and harmless.

This is Australia, they don't care how mild it it. The whole harry potter movie series is rated M+15

I wonder why it has to say RP (Rate Pending) if we know it's going to be rated T?

Maybe they're reading what we post and are going to make it X-rated! The Sims 3: now you can axe-murder your wife and do unspeakable things to your neighbours!

X-rated is only for porn/extreme sexual content. Otherwise it would be NC-17 or Unrated, at least here in the U.S., for movies that are for ages 18+ that are worse than rated R but not enough sexual content to be porn. It could even have extreme violence that is so disturbing and gory. These 2 ratings are not allowed in movie theaters as far as I know.

Hehehe, well in relation to game ratings, wouldn't it be rated AO (Adults Only)? Because rated M is not quite the limit, I think AO is supposed to be worse.

I always wanted a Health expansion in TS2 and I hope there will be one in TS3 (the presence of a hospital makes me hopeful ...). If they were to introduce smoking and drinking and even drug-taking (and let's face it, how many kids of 12 don't know about these things?), they could use it as an opportunity to show how bad they are. Sims who succumbed could become ill, die earlier ... and the game could make it abundantly clear what the cause was. This is an ideal chance to be educational, to do some GOOD. I don't see it as negative at all for that reason, I think it would be positive if handled correctly. This sort of thing has worked before, there's no reason why it can't work here, too.

Similarly, sims who didn't do these things and instead ate well, exercised regularly, etc., etc., would live longer. Apparently the exercise aspect is going to be in the game anyway, but they need to expand on it. And it makes no sense to have things that increase the lifespan if there is nothing to decrease it and create a balance. All this makes me wonder if they are considering something along these lines as an expansion. I really do hope so, although I suspect it would be a very watered-down version of what I would prefer to see.

Ancient Sim, I agree with you. If smoking in the game can cause bad things, as well as drinking, it can be used as an educational lesson. Which is why teen woohoo and teen pregnancy in the game can be looked at as the same exact way. So therefore make teen woohoo risky with no "try for baby" option because obviously teens don't normally plan to have kids at that age. Maybe you can buy condoms or something if you don't want to get pregnant.

Actually, that'd even be a great idea for adult Sims. "Try for baby" can be treated as wooboo without protection and regular woohoo can have some risk of getting pregnant UNLESS you buy condoms to prevent or reduce the risk.
