Default Maxis Makeover Houses
For those who like to give new looks to those not so pretty Eaxis buildings. Let us see what you've made of them.

I'll start with that luxury beach hotel on Twikkii Island. I didn't change it much, but still...

and after:

after makeover:

the hotel is completely empty inside, as you can see through the windows.

SommarBlomma the hotel looks so much more inviting after you re-made it. The roof you chose makes the hotel seem a lot more open and appealing.

Tired of your workers' faces changing after you set a uniform? See this thread for more details and a potential fix.

This was my play-a-long version of house 3 for the Pleasantview Makeover contest that Jones held at the end of last year. I chose the Mason family for this one and decided I didn't want to show pics without adding a few family photos and personal touches from the family around the house first, so I finally redid the photos after playing the family far enough to do just that! (Then had a long delay until I got round to resaving a few of the pics where the filesize was too large!)

Enough rambling though, here's 225 Main Street:

I love your makeover croutonia - I've never tried to makeover that house because its seems so hopeless, but you've made it cosy and contemporary. :-)

A simple re-do of 50 Middle Lane, one of the condo-type houses in Pleasantview. I didn’t change the footprint, just gave it a new “coat” of bricks and some new windows, doors, etc. Don Lothario’s house is in the background, and I intend to do the rest of the houses in a similar style. (First order of business being getting rid of those pesky palm trees. This isn’t SoCal!)

I think they change the links... well... that's a pain... i got 1 pair of links here but the ones attached on my photobucket are different now, weird... I like 50 Mile Lane that's a very modern look, what about inside? or did you leave it how it was?.

Amalia81, are you going to show inside?

This and the other thread has inspired me to go make over some houses. I'm doing over Brandi Brokes trailer in two ways. All cc free and they will be up for download. Brandi's Dream and Brandi's Nightmare.

Joandsarah, it was unfurnished save for bathroom and kitchen fixtures when I took that picture, but I just moved someone in. I'll post pics of the interior once I've got it furnished.

ETA: Here are some pics of the interior:

I used the Dusty Eastern Stone for the roof and balcony (black, in the "stone" category, I *believe* it comes with BV).

Bringing back the dead...I STILL think rebuilding the Maxis houses is fun. I've started playing a new Veronaville, and MOST of the houses are a mess. The setting is supposed to be Elizabethan England (1500's), where the architectural style was Gothic. Most of the hood is actually Tudor, which started in 1600's in England (so those stucco half-timbered houses are sort of correct). But they put Romeo in a SPANISH villa!
I started at the street with a garden entry, dismantling the entire house.

When I started, the house didn't have much money. Finished, even adding lots of bling, this 2-story, many-roomed house had GAINED money (all those useless walls and arches) to the tune of $35,000! There are 3 "commode" rooms (just a toilet), bedrooms have wash-stands, and the only TUB is in it's own room off the kitchen.

NEXT: that ridiculous narrow house where Juliet lives. Forget meeting the neighbors, it takes an hour to get to the street!

Stand up, speak out. Just not to me..
