Crazy question, but does this completely remove the dialog box (even if you have invited somebody to stay over & haven't let them get any sleep) or just nuke it when it's inappropriate- like in your business lot example?

Just curious.

I never saw this as that big of a hassle. Does it really bother that many people?

@Zirconia Wolf
There are 2 versions (only one should be used at a time) :

NoDialog version - removes this dialog box completly.
However sim who was about to spawn this dialog, may still drop small
"Bye" (as text notification) if he previously meet us, (depends on greet status)

SideScreen version - not remove this dialog but change it into text notification
which appear at right side of screen and do not pause the game.

@rocketmonkey
It depends on playstyle, this dialog may never popup to some people,
to some other it will popup rarely enought to not carve itself in memory,
but theres also people to whom it popup constantly every fiew seconds
which is really depressing if 70 percent of clicks going into unpausing game.

You can see example HERE or HERE or HERE theres many.

@SimCeleste
Thank you!

@Xiaoyun: Thanks for the clarification! Awesome mod, btw! After thinking about it some more, I think I'll go the *total nuke* route, as if I'm such a crappy host that a "sleep over" guest feels the need to leave, then they have every right to do so without any further explanation. (Because a crappy host wouldn't care if they left or not!)

@rocketmonkey: Like Xiaoyun said it's a matter of personal play style & I say that anything that disturbs game play (especially if it pauses the game & forces me to click something for no good reason) is an annoyance.

It's bad enough with chance/etc cards (which I can tolerate because they serve a semi-purpose) but geeze, just how many of these OMG!PLZCLICKMENOW thingys does Maxis think we want to wade through in the course of normal game play?

Sheesh, Maxis!

Thank you for this! Obtrusive dialogs are very annoying, especially buggy ones.

Is there a way to remove the cause of the bug? Make the game not generate "invite to sleep over" dialogs, since we did not actually invite the customers to sleep over? Or is that not possible, and the making the dialogs less obtrusive is the only option?

@CatOfEvilGenius
Your question really made me rethink it deeply.
(and so change the description of fix as well)
I think the "cause" is not really a software matter but ethic.
It seems to be attempt of maxis to strictly copy and enforce real
life rules into a virtual world. (thats ofcourse praiseworthy)
However, while in real life its commonly understandable
that person being at "inappriopriate place and wrong time"
may be reprimanded with "shouldnt you become in bed allready ?"
then in computer simulation, where time flows differently,
where we know what we do and want to decide about it by ourself,
we should have free choice to say : "yes, i know! Its late night,
They shouldnt be here - but thats how i want it, so please stop
".

I think if they would discuss it in maxis about removing it,
(maybe they even had discussion about it, because this problem
was reported on EA forums so they must know about it), they would
still decide to leave it as is, for the same reason they leave censorship blur,
The final decision (cause) would be - "because its in good manner,
and good example of life rules which should be taught and propagated".

So then, this fix - "kindly send the grandma back to her room
instead of making her worry about - what these "naughty" customers / freaks
still doing here at that-late-hour and why theyre not in his beds yet".

@temptress
Yes, that too.

I'm somewhat confused by this hack - does it just take away the dialog, or does it also remove the trigger for the sim to leave?

In any case, this is a nice mod, can't wait to use it if it is the latter.

In some cases, when we have many sims visiting our lot,
(eg: 24h opened "business club", where sims not purchase goods
but use ticket machine, and we additionaly increase allowed
sims count on lot to high number, to raise incomes)
then incoming and leaving sims count will increase significantly.
Additionaly if our "club" is good enought - it will make customers
interested very long, untill they exhaust completly and have no other
choice but to leave.
This is not a hotel - its a club. They have to stay as long as possible
but not sleep here. Unfortunately, this pause game very often,
every time when "happy customer" leave,

This mod does NOT alter AI which causes sims to leave,
They will leave the same no matter if - with or without messagebox,
It only free us from obligation to unpause game manualy
for many times when it happen.

(by completly hiding this messagebox, or moving it to right side
of screen without need to press OK - depending on which version
of mod you use)

This is a brilliant mod- as I am so annoyed with it all the time and have to move my sims out of their lot and back in. Argh! One question though- do you HAVE to have Apartment Life for it to work? I hope not, because I don't have it.

Apartment Life expansion is required to be installed for this mod to work.
(It does not matter if one play on Apartment lot, normal lot or any lot type.)

Okay, thanks. I will have to get Apartment Life, then! Would it work if you could make a mod exactly like this, but another expansion pack has to be installed? Sorry to bug you- I have everything except Free Time and Apartment Life. It's okay if you cant- I just find the dialogue box REALLY annoying and would love to get rid of it.
