For the moment I've gathered enough downloads to get me going in my new custom hood. (A little over one Gig folder currently, so yes, stop. Now! Grin.)

Nowadays I try not to download furniture, only if it is required to download a lot. I mostly download lots and clothing (and hair).

I tend to always download furniture and such stuff that looks oh so shiny and new and then I only use it like once.

Oh Please ! Please ! members you are not helping my "addiction" to downloading can't you see, look at my eyes >>> that I need help and need to stop.

THIS BLOG is releasing a craaaapton of default repleacements for (I think all) maxis hairs. It's so amazing.

My gawd..those are cool..but will take ages to download..I might pass..lol

That brings up an annoyance I've been running into more often. Why do people use hairs with ridiculously high poly counts to use to default hair? For example the default for the wedding veil hair on the above linked blog has 19,832 polys. If more than one Sim has that hair on a lot, computers will be affected.

Personally I have little use for default replacements anyway. It's the same number of files for the computer to open, so no savings there. I suppose a smaller catalog might be attractive, but since I've never seen a defaulter whose taste aligned with mine sufficiently, I've not been tempted. I do have Hystgerical Paroxysm's modesty defaults (not so much for the modesty issue as just all those strips of abdominal flesh don't look graceful to me, they look uncomfortable: chafey where the top ends, and cold or sunburny where the flesh is, and I'm sure tops like that creep up all the time too).

I think it's because a majority of people don't like townies generated with ugly maxis hair.

I have default hair replacements for what I consider "Ugly" hairs, I just don't like hairs with ridiculously high poly counts.
