Most of the things that are on sale can't be gifted.

Also...
" Please Note: The Complete Your Set discount does not apply in the Wish List. All set prices displayed here are either the current full price or sale price. Please visit the product page to see if you qualify for the Complete Your Set discount.

Some of the lists some folks have made are rather large. That's okay... it's just a shopping basket. A hint as to what is the most desired would be nice.

I'm just echoing what tunafishfish metioned in post #31. I'd already thanked lisfyre and Mr. Joy personally for gifting me items, as well as deskita and hkm1659.

Mr. Joy actually shocked me by gifting me the Prism Art Studio, so that was especially unexpected but still much appreciated, and I will update my post above to reflect that since that set in particular was mentioned.

Once again, thank you to the aforementioned four gifters for an early Christmas, so to speak!

I can't gift anyone or be gifted because I got the 500 SimPoints and spent it all. But I love how people are willing to spare their hard earned (or clicked) SimPoints to strangers over the Internet with nothing in common but love for the game. Out of sheer goodwill, with nothing in return.

I seriously love MTS. I have been on "Christian" forums less nice than this place. I wouldn't trade this community for all the SimPoints and (sometimes broken without mods anyway) EA goods. Love you guys.

Here are some links to help people make the MOST of the free points and the gifts

Here is a look at how Complete Your Set can help you and your gifter for those that want big sets.

http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/dis...-for-your-sp/p1

Worlds and Venues normally do not qualify for CYS, but many Venues are on the DD cycle however the only world on the cycle is Sunlite Tides. CYS will only work for you. not those that gift you or you gift. So if you already own some items in a set people will still have to pay full price to gift you that set, however if you ask for just items in that set, you can use the CYS price, and some are pretty easy to get down to free especially when they come up on the daily deal cycle. This also means that if you list items from a set and the full set and someone gift you items from the set and then someone else comes along and gifts you the whole set, the points for the individual items are really lost.

Like Don said, I would rather spread the points around so, if you pick enough items for a set that is CYC enabled to give you the set free when it comes up on the Daily deal, you can make for the most of the points people have to gift.

and here is the Daily Deal Cycle that might also help. (I thought you could gift items at the DD price, but I just check and I am not getting the button to gift DD items or Sale items).

Ooh thank you for that! There's two sets I really want but even with my new free simpoints I can't afford either, so I've been stalking the daily deals in the hopes that they'll come up. I keep worrying that they won't or that I'll miss them though. Now I know exactly when to check for them, AND I know for sure that by using the DD I can afford both! Patience will be required, but at least I don't have to constantly check the site myself for weeks, never knowing if I've missed my chance!

Thank you!!!! :D

Also follow the link to the Complete Your Set discussion and read the opining post, as you can get the price down with a few tips from there and maybe get a few more sets. One such tip is that the FIRST item you buy in a set that is complete you set enabled will knock the price of the entire set down by about 10%... actual math in that post. Sometime while you are waiting for you set to come up in the DD items from that set will also come up in the DD and can help you get a great deal... once again math is in the post. But it works something like this... 90% of the full price of each item is deducted from the FULL price of the set.. so if you but a 100 item you get 90 off.. and if you only paid 50 for that item on a 50% off daily deal that is a 40 point saving. Now the whole set will cost 90 points less and the % of the DD will be taken off the new CYS price when it come up on the DD.

To keep this in line with the point of this thread

1) List the cheapest item in each set you want that is CYS enabled on you wish list... provide a link to your wish list here... If I or someone else gifts them then that is 10% more you will save on each set when it comes up on the DD.

2) For those that have NO points, use the DD calculator to figure out how many points you need worth of items from a set to get it for FREE when it comes up on a DD and then list ONLY those items on your wish list, and provide a link.
(several link to help with that found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...2235701&vpid=A1 )

edit: If I know what your goal is, I will be more apt to gift you to help you along.

Unfortunately only 1 of the 2 sets is CYS enabled. But by spending 25 points on a pair of boots now, I've knocked the expected Daily Deal price of that set down by an extra 90 points to only 556. So assuming everything goes according to plan and the set shows up when it's supposed to, and I don't miss my chance, I'll be getting a set worth 1900 points for only 581 points! Nice :D
