I don't usually download Sims but with the Celebrity element of LN and the really good celeb Sims people are making I thought I'd try a few in my game. I download the sims and all the cc required (sliders, skins, hair, makeup, wrinkles, etc) but when I load the celeb Sims into my game they look messed up. I mean really messed up. Its happened with a variety of Sims so far so I have for now given up. So this isn't a help question -- I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this exploding celeb Sim phenom in their game?

I have. For various sims. It frustrates the HELL out of me. I finally managed to make my Robert Pattinson sim work, but all I did there was re-download and replace. Have you tried that yet?

Define "messed up". Do they just not look like their pictures did or is it more features are out of proportion? If it's features out of proportion it might be a difference in the slider ranges. You might have the sliders set at the defaults and they've got a hack to allow that slider five times the default range. It also might be a matter of your configuration not recognizing all the sliders for one reason or another. If the "messed up" is that they simply don't look like the pictures from the download page... that unfortunately tends to be normal. Photoshopping and dedicated "photo sets" can mask plenty of flaws that show up in regular game play.

I tried a few different celebrity sims that I downloaded. Some worked and others didn't. I finally gave up and started creating my own. I have since discovered that CAS can really test my patience, but in the end I have learned more by making them myself, and I get a small amount of self-satisfaction when one finally turns out right. (Well, maybe more than a small amount...I tend to run around the house screaming "YES!!!", and pumping my fists in the air.)

Hmmm. The sliders work when I'm creating Sims so their functioning but I only have them set for 2x in Awesome. I would never set my sliders to 5x for fear of what the game might generate with those parameters when creating NPCs. Actually, some of the celeb sims just don't resemble the celeb at all but several were really messed up and by that I mean some have had faces like gargoyles --bizarre face shape, freakishly gigantic noses (beyond Cyrano), black and blue eye sockets (yes, I downloaded the eye bags), brows in the hairline -- really freakish looking sims.

There was a lot of cc involved but I didn't see any conflicts when running the cc through Dashboard. However, I did notice a lot of new skin tones that weren't part of the 2 or 3 skintone packages I downloaded. I know skin creators sometimes give a variance of skin tones (Blue/Green/Natural) but I suddenly had almost half a dozen new green and blue skin tones as well as purple, red, yellow. Now that I'm typing this I'm thinking maybe something hitched a ride on a Sims3pack and I should have run them through custard before extracting the package files. The stuff was from a lot of different sites. Duh! Oh well, live and learn. Also, I'm not that crazy about the idea of downloading so much cc just for a sim or 2 that I would probably use more as NPC towns people than storyline characters.

It's too bad though because players are creating and posting some really good looking celeb Sims at the moment. If I ever get over my lazy cow syndrome I might investgate this further but for now I'm fine with the pseudo celeb Sims that I created. However, I was curious if this was an issue others have experienced this as well.

To answer Suzetter's question, sometimes. I usually don't download sims either, but I got a simmified version of an entertainer and it was horrific in CAS. So I continue trying to do some celebs on my own. Tend to act a little like Askemagus, running around the den yelling WOOHOO, when I get it right. *snickers*

I think we need pics of these freakish sims. It sounds amusing, in any case (to me, not to suzetter).

Sorry, but I removed them and the accompanying cc from my game. But yeah, it was funny just not what I want in my game. If I try again later on I'll take a pic for you before trying to rectify the situation. One looked like a cross between a human and a buzzard and another looked like the Sims had been gone at with a mallet. Seriously, they were really freaky.
