Ugh this is so ridiculous and retarded and ugh I'm ticked. How do I kick someone out of my household WITHOUT them taking a massive chunk of MY money?
My guy wants to kick out his ex girlfriend. As in, I want her her gone and with good reason. I don't want that skeezy biatch taking half my money, she's not entitled one red cent of it and I need it for the baby.
argghhh.... I hate you EA.

Buy stuff, fill your yard with cars, when your bank-account is zero, she can't take what's not there.

Ah, but most items depreciate as soon as you start live mode, and cars seem to take an especially large hit.
Do they still get money if you split them from the family in edit town?
ETA: I also seem to remember a "kick out" check box in one of the methods, but I'm not sure if that was an AM feature or not.

I thought that you had 3 or 7 ingame hours before those items depreciated?

If you don't mind mods in your game, ani's Buyable Money bags (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=392460) are awesome for situations like this.

Yes, even if you use edit town to split, and even if you check the Kick Out box, they still take a hefty chunk of your money... grr....

I don't know if any mods exists for this or not but I suppose If wanted to you could just kill her or you could move her out and just use a cheat to regain the lost money.

Interestingly enough, when I move sims out of my household, they get zero money. I always buy them a house, though, cheap or not... That might be it.
Well, if there's no particular reason for her to be alive, then I'd off her. I'm always happy to add to my freaky graveyard. With new and exciting deaths, too!! :giggler:

Why don't you use the cheat "familyfunds <family name> <new amount of money>" and set it to zero?
e.g. "familyfunds smith 0" if it is the Smith family.
That way, you don't have to buy a lot of stuff and worry about its value depreciating. Just make sure you remember the amount of simoleons he had before and use the cheat again once you kick out that sim.

I just kill them. It's easier.

Yes, I've never noticed the sims I kick out taking any money.
Is it a percentage of the household funds or a set amount?

Use the "Add Sim" interaction in MasterController and add the sim to another household in town.
The interaction ignores all monetary requirements (you could actually move them into an empty house, without having to pay for it), and will not affect the family funds of the home you moved them out of.
Cheers. :)
