An empty lot with a swimmable lake was requested in this thread.

Anyone can easily make this. There was a very simple building tutorial at the Maxis exchange written by HabboArwen called "SWIM in a lake!". That tutorial has been removed from the Exchange, so I've made another tutorial here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=131752

Size:
5x5

Compatibility:
***Update: This lot requires Nightlife.*** If you don't have Nightlife, it will crash your game.

Custom Content:
This contains diving board & ladder recolors that I made, which were originally posted in this thread. It also contains a "water" terrain paint, which I also made.

Screenshots:
I included some screenshots that show what a sim looks like as they swim (Santa needed a nice, relaxing swim anyway, lol). As you can see in the screenshots, it isn't exactly like swimming in a pool because you can't see the part of the sim's body below the water level. If that bothers you, there's really nothing anyone can do about it at this point unless Maxis decides to make normal lakes swimmable in the next EP. So since the game wasn't meant to do this in the first place, it can't be expected to perform in the exact same way as a pool.

Additional Info:
Do NOT use the terrain tool anywhere near the lake. If you do, it might result in your sim swimming outside of the lake's boundaries. If that happens and your sim swims into a hill so that you can't see them anymore, don't panic. Simply click on the pool ladder and select "Get out". The sim will find its way back to the ladder and "get out" of the lake.

About rar files:
I don't upload zip files because they are literally twice as large as rar files (when compressing Sims2Pack files, which is what lots are packaged in), so they take twice as long to download and use twice the server resources that rar files do.

Just download a free tool that opens rar files. Then you can download as many rar files that you want -- there are THOUSANDS of amazing downloads that are only available in rar format. It's silly to pass up on them just because you're afraid to get rar extraction tool. There's nothing to be afraid of ....

All of these programs are FREE:
Q-Xpress
Sims 2 File Maid (If you want something easy, this is the program for you)

IZArc
Tugzip
