The investment career track involves the committing of money in order to gain a financial return. Characters in this career track work in banks and brokerage houses. This career track begins with low-paying jobs in exchange for a huge payoff later on.

The low levels introduce the character to some of the fundamentals of investing: the concepts of risk and return, and various investment products. These are low-paying levels, but advancement is relatively easy.

The middle levels pay better, but advancement becomes more difficult. Here, the character is selling investment products - loans, stocks, bonds, etc. The character is investing (and risking) other people's money. They are paid on commission, and not on return, so they are more about sales than investing. As such, they require charisma and a large number of friends.

At the upper levels, the character is investing and risking his own money, so the payoffs are highest and the dominant skills are logic and creativity. In fact, since the character is working for himself, the charisma minimum is removed altogether.

  1. Fixed the problem of carpool not showing up at Fund Manager level
  2. Tweaked some of the outfits

UPDATE: 2006-Feb-24 (version 1.01.01): Removed non-English catalog descriptions to try to force non-English installs to use English text, as mentioned in BoaConstrictor's post. I have NOT tested this because I don't have a non-English install; rather, I am hoping non-English users would be willing to test for me, but PLEASE back up your neighborhoods first!

UPDATE: 2006-Feb-28: Nobody has reported any problems with version 1.01.01, so I am considering it verified and removing the "UNTESTED" designation.
