I can remember sitting at my computer creating my very first male sim on the day I bought the Sims 2. I remember scrolling through the clothing options and being excited that there were so many reasonable options for guys. They were casual and realistic. I got to the middle and was so happy to see a jeans and t-shirt option... and thats when i saw it. SANDALS?! Why are they all wearing sandals? Not just the shorts options but the jeans too! And its all of them. I realize it is always summer in The Sims but come on.

After seeing that a person can actually replace the maxis clothes from the awesome job that Hysterical Paroxysm did here, I was inspired to make my own. So here they are: A full replacement of all 14 of the Maxis jeans and t-shirt/sandal combo. This is a completely new mesh. I always found the original to be a little dumpy and frumpy so I sexied it up a bit. Tighter shirt and such. The jeans are also slightly more form-fitting. Not crazy tight but they are no longer JNCO-style. Obviously It also has tennis shoes instead of sandals.
Default Replacement Version: Because I never want to see another sandaled male sim in my game I made a replacement pack. This version will completely replace the original mesh and textures and will show up in the Maxis clothing, NOT as custom clothing. You are going to want to delete the .package files in your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Thumbnails folder for the thumbnails to reflect the change. These files regenerate so there shouldn't be a problem (except for a little lag as the game regenerates them in CAS). Even if you do not do this the clothes will show up on your sims fine. Any recolors you have of the original mesh will also work with the new mesh. However, the recolors will more than likely look a little strange because I have altered the UV map in such a way as to benefit my textures. The foot of the mesh is also larger to appear more like a shoe.

Apparently the default version also affects teen textures too so I made a teen replacement too. For your teens to show up correctly you will need to download the replacement teen mesh. You can find it here. Sorry about that.

Even though this is a default replacement if you make recolors you still need to direct people to this post because they will need to get the mesh. Please let them know if you are using the default replacement pack or the non-default pack because it will make a difference in which one they need to download to use your awesome recolors.

Non-Default Version: Because I know not everyone is as crazy about minor details as I am, this version is just like a new mesh and textures. Download this version if you do not want to replace your Maxis sandaled mesh. They will show up as custom clothing.

I would suggest only downloading either the replacement pack or the mesh and the texture packs. They will work if you download both but there really isnt any point since they are basically the same. I apologize for the large file size. There are three seperate non default texture packs so that if you dont want all the colors you can download one and make your own. (the images show which textures are in which pack). Download all three texture packs if you want all 14 recolors that I made. Both versions go in your downloads folder.

Both versions work for adult and young adult. I believe they are both base game compatible since they came with the base game. (I have the Holiday pack so I don't know if that makes a difference). There are 2024 polygons and 1456 vertices. (same as original). Both have a fat mesh.
Thank you so much Hysterical Paroxysm for your info and help.(sorry I went and stole your idea) You are 12 kinds of awesome.
Thanks MTS2, Wes_h, Maxis, Milkshape, SimPE, Adobe, and anyone else who got us to this point in mesh creation or texturing.

Please do not claim this mesh as your own. That just ain't cool. Make recolors till you go crazy. I am excited to see what people can create with this! Please do not post the mesh anywhere. Direct people back to this post if you make recolors so that they can get the mesh themselves. This shirt and shoes textures are done from scratch. If you recolor them let people know that I made them originally. The jean texture is Maxis that I resized and tweaked so do whatever with that. I didnt draw it so I cannot claim it. Basically do whatever you want but be honest with people.

Hope you all like this!
