Cost: 130.310§
Lot: 2x2
Households: 1
Nightlife and OfB required.
Custom content included: Invisible Driveway, by roddyaleixo
Description:
For sims that are sick of living in the suburbs, Backdoor Lane provides an alternative: a couple of small town lots with a more urban look and feel. They fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, creating a maze of backyard gardens and interconnected alleyways when placed in a tightly spaced neigbourhood. Most of them work as corner lots as well as facing the street, creating a very different impression depending on how you place them and what's on the lot next door.
If you need a neighbourhood terrain, please look in this section instead of PMing me. Thanks.
Backdoor Lane 11
is a one-family house with a store that sells middle eastern furniture and arts. The private section is accesssible through the store (right off the front door) and has an open floorplan with combined living/dining/break rooms on three levels; the store is one room with a separate bathroom. Quite atypical for Backdoor Lane, this house does *not* have a back door (unless you count the door to the basement).
1 x double bedroom with private bathroom
1 x single bedroom
1 x bathroom
1 x kitchen/dining/living/break room on two levels (looks less good than it could due to shoddy Maxis light rendering -- it's probably better with customized lights)
1 x store with separate bathroom
1 x basement (outside access; empty)
Note that this is only useful if you intend to either keep your employees out of the house entirely (except for the store bathroom), or grant them full access to your private living quarters (living + kitchen area). If we assume that this store is run by someone *from* the Middle East, the latter would be customary anyway, for all I know, so I didn't bother cutting it up into parts -- the only thing that I'd change after playtesting is to put the TV in the downstairs part of the living room so that poor Goopy doesn't have to walk so far when he's taking a break.
The office desk downstairs makes an excellent One Desk for homework, by the way.
Fully furnished, including a lot of expensive art in the store. In- and outside lights, alarms, phone and trash can/compactor are included; one car (included) can park in the backyard.
Thank you:
This collection (frillen) as well as this one (loba) and that one (windkeeper), the mini lots by Andi8104 and the ones based thereupon (MaryLou) have been very useful in making the Backdoor Lane neighbourhood. Thanks for making them available, as well as for the driveway of course.

- You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.
