These are based on eyes I made a long time ago, now with improved textures and edited to show up on newly created townies and NPCs. The brown, green, and grey eyes are Maxis-dominant (as opposed to Custom-dominant, which will always be inherited), and the aqua, lapis, and lavender eyes are recessive. (I picked those due to personal preference, with only a little consideration for realism.)
I have some screenshots showing the eyes with weird facial expressions, so you can see that there are no strange dark lines or other problems, unless you don't care for the deliberate lack of realistic details.
Theo discovered how to make custom content usable by townies, and there is a tutorial by alkaloid for making eyes like this. Mens Mortuus at the MATY forums discovered that some of the steps could be skipped, so the eyes can be townie-ized just by changing the 8 at the end of the "flags" line to 0, skipping the other steps.
To test these, I disabled my N001 folder in my Program Files\Sims 2 directory to prevent the game from spawning the usual townies and batch created them from the mailbox using BoolProp. The game created 30 brand new townies and the needed NPCs, and as you can see from some of the screenshots below, some of them did wind up with these eyes.
If you want townie-enabled eyes but don't like mine, check out alkaloid's page here at MTS2. As more people learn about this technique, I'm sure we'll see more townie-enabled custom content.

Policies:
SHARING: You may freely share my objects, hair, any and all textures, and all my recolors on any FREE site (including the Exchange) or through emails to your friends, just so long as you attribute them to me. (You do not have a free site if you offer ''donation items'' that are only available to those who pay you. If you sell ''donation items'' I don't want my things or recolors of my meshes on your site even if those items are free. You can use MTS2 instead. TSR is a paysite and I don't want my stuff there anymore either.)
REQUESTS: I don't do any requests. I only make stuff that I want in my own game. I don't modify my already existing textures and files for someone else, either; it's not that I'm unsympathetic, just that I'm lazy and don't want to spend the time. Sorry.
Sims 1 files: All of my Sims 1 stuff is free to share, just like my Sims 2 stuff. If you're interested in my old stuff, check out my journal (above) and find the entry on Sims 1 for the current links, or scroll to the bottom of the page and check out my signature. :)
