Yeah, if not ultimate, it's damn close : 391 (!!!!) paintings from a plethora of different series (~110) and a couple of selections from the artbooks by some of the best illustrators out there : Range Murata (chara designer in Last Exile, Blue Sumbarine N. 6, curator of the beautiful Robot magazine), Tony Taka (Type Moon illustrator, and therefore chara designer for series like Fate/Stay Night, Shingetsutan Tsukihime, etc) , Ugetsu Hakua (chara design in Bakuretsu Tenshi) and last but not least Yoshitoshi Abe (Serial Experiments Lain, Niea Under 7, Jigoku Shoujo).

In short, i was just recoloring for me some paintings, browsing my shamefully huge folder of manga pictures, artworks, scans et similia taken from various imageboards, and when i took my eyes off from Photoshop, i realized how much jpgs i did (and how seriously ill I must be... ). So, after being a perennial lurker, i told to myself that for once i could be of some use to the community.

The collection is indeed huge, so take note that it's not meant for a complete install (tough nothing precludes you from doing so, but then keep in mind you'll have really A LOT of recolors in the 5-6 base paintings used, and browsing through them can become a bit of an hassle). For that reason, in each pack (i will anyway list for each pack its content, so don't worry) there's a previews folder with the SMALL jpgs cropped and resized to make the relative .package. In each pack you'll find ~25 / ~50 paintings with their base jpgs, so that you'll be able to quickly sort through the various paintings and choose those that you like more.
The packages are called "KAD_AnimePaintings_series_number.package" (ex : KAD_AnimePaintings_Eva_01.package) while the jpgs will be just "Series_number.jpg" (so : Eva_01.jpg). That way you'll both have the chance to browse and select the packages before installing them, and a quick key to find them back for every need once they'll be in your probably huge and chaotic downloads folder.

Some explanations in beautiful FAQ format, 'cause I love logorrhea!

How were the series chosen?
Just by my fetish and personal tastes, and since i only used artworks i already had on disk, there will only be things that i don't dislike, for a reason or another. That means, for istance, that you'll not find a single painting of some series, altough well known ones, suchs as, to make an example, Naruto or Dragonball, i just hate those kind of shows.
Also, i'm not a huge fan of mecha shows, therefore, there are no mecha pics et similia, you'll find mostly subjects and groups. But don't worry, i may not be a mecha fan, but i was indeed a plug suit fan lol, so Eva is there, don't panic! :P

How were the specific pictures chosen?
My collection of pictures and walls sails at around 3.000, even if i'm quite picky when surfing imageboards. These 391 i used were painfully chosen from the best ones (in my opinion), the most representative of a series or artist, and those that looked the best for being used as paintings or other wall hangings.
Again, you'll notice something : there will be many more female subjects than male ones... not my fault. I think. I'm not a perv. I hope :P
BTW, no fear, i chosen the subjects avoiding every picture that could have been not totally "politically correct". That means the worst you'll find will be a bunch of subjects in bathing suits, or just a little bit of lingerie. And still very few of them.
Actually, there were quite a lot of subjects in lingerie in my folders that were, IMO, totally innocent (i daily see here lingerie packs that are no different in any way), but still i excluded them just in case. Also, 'cause you know how it works, more often than not manga characters looks young, and that's immediatly a minefield even if the "lingerie shot" is just a nice drawing without being actually "erotic" (it's a drawing, jeez! :P)
Maybe, if i'll have some clarifications on that matter, it's possible that i will add an "ecchi" pack later on. We'll see.

From where do all those pictures come from?
From just about anywhere. The list of credits (apart from the obvious credits to the series and panel authors) would be endless, since many of these paintings were "crafted" starting from fan made wallpapers, or again, fan arts (sometimes professional fan arts, it's common in japan for professional mangakas to draw each other characters just for fun).
Two wallpaperists (is that a real word? ) i however have to mention are
Ningen at Ningen's Anime Wallpapers and RedXIII at Mercurial Design
Many of the walls used in this collection were originally made by those 2 great photoshop artists.
The paintings made from the mentioned artists artworks were scanned from some of their artbooks, like Murata's Futurhytm, etc. I've been careful of taking from each artbook just a minor percentage of drawings (no more than 5-6), both for personal respect and legal reasons. They are well known artists here in the west, and you can find their works in dedicated stores : if you like 'em, buy 'em. They're worth it.

Where the hell do i find the recolors, you damned logorrhoic?
I choose, for order's sake, to stick with few base paintings. Most of them are "Lady on Red", "Fantasy Scape", "Suspense" and, to a less extent, "Bella Squared" recolors. There are however a bunch of exceptions, some paintings where made to look as "prints" (the FSN calendar from the Premium Fanbook, for example), and are listed under the "Pineapple" painting. Also, some artworks that i considered especially worth, for a reason or another, will be found as "Arghist Soldier" and "Poisonus Forest" recolors. Finally, there are 5-6 "Fourth Element" recolors for pictures that looked really nice as that kind of wall hanging (movie-poster like pictures), and a single recolor of one of the unsorted pictures under the "skyscape" painting, it came out really nice with that translucent effect.

Could you add a **** pack?
I'm still a lurker at heart, and who knows how much more will my will to play the sims in free will live on? :P
I just tell "maybe". Definitely, i have no intention of surfing on imageboards for specific requests, but if you ask about something that more or less i already know and have material of, and it's not Naruto-like crap ( ), maybe just maybe it will happen. If you even send me the drawings you would like to see added to the collection, then it would be even more likely to happen, but in that case... well, a painting recolor is something almost everyone here knows how to do these days, right?

Could I reuse some of this things in another mod?
Of course you can; actually, i usually laugh very hard when i see authors of custom content for games declaring copyright policies that even Bill Gates would be ashamed of. And anyway i just inserted in game works made by other people, people who have rights to arrogate to themselves copyrights :P
To tell the truth, i doubt anyone would need to use anime paintings in another kind of bigger mod, such as a lot or a themed room, but just in case, don't worry. I just ask (politely, i do not "pretend" :P) for a simple credit, but mainly for a link back on this topic, just to be useful to those downloaders that have an interest in anime/manga content for the sims.
Ah, just one thing : do not upload anything from me on paysites. I cannot prevent you from doing so, but a close friend of mine is a witch (at least she says so... :P). That said, if you don't want to have huge colitis attacks, don't make me (her) angry :P

Well then, basic info done, let's see what you'll find in each pack. Between () there will be the number of paintings done for that series/artist. (Please note that while for bigger series such as FSN, i categorized the painting there, if a series is drawn by one of the featured artists, small ones can appear in their pack, such as blue submarine n. 6, with 3-4 drawings that you'll find in Murata's collection).
