Today I have a nice traditional style house on a 1x4 lot with the emphasis very much on the garden.



For the Sim who loves to grow their own, this lot is complete with 6 fruit trees and plots for veggies. These have been made using fway's invisible bases which you can find here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=282161
(Or if you want you can use the non-invisible maxis plots)
Some of the veg plots have already been planted with tomatoes so don't forget to water them! There is also a pond which can be used for fishing if you remove the flower bed edging around it to give your Sims access.
