Warning : The MODoor does ONLY work with game version 1.15 and below!
If you want to use the Multi-Owners-Door with the new patch 1.17, take the MODoor 2.0 instead!
You can download it here.

With the Multi-Owners Door you can choose 'who is in' and 'who is out'. Just click on "Set Owner" and choose any Sim by name! A pie menu will open showing all names of Sims who are currently staying on your (active) lot. You can pick as many Sims from the list as you like and make them key holders (One by one, of course). As soon as you have assigned the first owner a new entry saying "Remove" appears next time when you click on the door. Well, you guess it: this will open a new menu showing all the Sims who are key holders already, so by clicking on a name the key will be removed from the respective Sim. If there are at least two key holders you will get an extra option to remove all at once (see screen shots).
As I mentioned before any Sim currently staying on the lot can be assigned to be a key holder. Visitors however will loose their key at the very moment when they leave the lot - while household members will keep their keys even when they go out to town.
For now I have limited the number of assignable keys to 8. By default households are limited to 8 members anyway. As long as you don't use any mods that remove this limitation you will never have to worry about that issue. On this background as well as assuming that the most of you don't stuff their houses with more than 8 Sims it doesn't make much sense to me to have a lockable door with more than 8 possible key owners.
When you click on the "Set Owner..." option you will find another (additional) entry at the top of the menu, saying: "Unlock For All..". If you select it the door will be open for everybody while key holders will NOT loose their assigned permissions and will keep them until you click on the door again. This time there will be only a single entry: "Key Owners only". So when you trigger this the door is back in its original state that lets you choose between "Set Owner" and "Remove..." as described above. See also screen shots below.

Compatibility: This is not a core-mod. The original script files of the game (like Sims3GameplaySystems etc.) have not been altered, are not included and remain untouched. This Mod is an independent assembly attached to the respective door object class.
You can use this door with the base game or with EP1 installed.
I have tested this door on two computers with different OS's and it has been running fine so far. On both of the computers Sims3 patch 1.8.25 respectively SimsEP1 2.3.33 is installed.(* see Edit) So if you have updated to the newest version of TS3 or/and TS3-WA already I can't tell whether it will run smoothly - though I'm pretty sure it will. Also if you use this door having any core-mods (like Awesome etc.) installed I can not promise you a flawless operation. Just try. And before you do so, don't forget to make a backup of the important stuff as usual...!!!
I will update the game on my computer(s) to the newest version soon. Should there be any issues I promise to provide an update.
*Edit : (3.19.2010) Now tested on newest patches (1.10.6/2.5.12) and running perfectly!
*Edit : (10.5.2010) Tested with newest patches (1.15.34/2.10.5/3.6.6). Should also work with EP2/SP2.

Have fun. (Please give me a feedback about how it works on your computer, especially when you experience any problems).
