I created three meshes each with it's own recolors. I did this in order to keep the list of recolors down instead of having one mesh with 16 recolors filling up the catalog mesh color choices.
Each mesh and recolor has a bump map added to increase the height and depth presentation in game. Most video cards these days allows for bump maps (mines a cheap one and it does). This kept the poly count way down and makes them look great. IF your video card does not support bump maps, they still look good in game, because I beveled and embossed the edges.
