*Disclaimers*

The house was put on a 60x60 lot for picture taking purposes only. It is made for a 40x40 lot.

To be true to the floor plan this house should be on a foundation and should not have a basement, however, Sims3 being what it is, the clapboards would have been angled and looked horrible, so there you have it. I also made a change to the second floor lay out.

The house is larger than the floor plan, that is due to the size of Sims3 parking spaces and my personal dislike for narrow (aka 1 tile) stairs and hallways and cramped rooms.

There really is not room to take the driveway(s) out to the road, but then, the cars teleport to the garage anyway.

*End of Disclaimers*

When I first saw the floorplans for this house, I was fascinated by the concept of a keeping room and wanted to build the house just because of it.

What is a keeping room, you ask?

I didn't know either and after a little research, I found 2 definitions.

#1 A keeping room is an area just off the kitchen of a home. Keeping rooms date back to Colonial times when families would sleep in that area when the rest of the house was cold. Since the area could be heated by the kitchen stove, it often provided the only heated place in the house. Today, a keeping room is called by many different names, depending on one's geographical location, such as a family room, a great room and a hearth room.

#2 A keeping room was also called a hall or in our day and age, a livingroom.

The MBR has its own private bathroom and a walk in closet with changing mirrors.

The house is fully decorated, but I have left some things out. Sims like buying things so its all good.

There is room for a garden in the back and the undecorated and unfinished basement gives you plenty of room to add displays or whatever gadgets and gizmos your sims desire.
