Designed as a net-zero home for a mild climate, the Solar Wave's sloped photovoltaic roof provides the house more energy than it consumes. White walls keep the interior cool, aided by a central air conditioning system - which recycles heat to the exterior pond. An on-site wind turbine provides additional power as needed.

As a final touch, much of the interior furnishings are constructed from repurposed wood. The open concept design provides all the ammenities: comfortable bed, bathroom, den, basement rec room, and utility room.

For maximum realism, this lot should be oriented so that the sloped roof faces the maximum solar altitude (which in the northern hemisphere is south). This can be found by looking at a column's shadow at noon. Or, check out my previous 'eco' house, which includes a quick orientation picture for Twinbrook and Sunset Valley.
