So I made another attempt at creating a good looking starter home, unfortunately, I've failed again at creating a good looking home on a single sim's starter budget, however I think I've succeeded in creating a good looking home. Thank you lulume, Simmy RN and Johnny Bravo for your feedback at the Creator Feedback Forum.
For those curious about the name; 'Goose Cottage', this is another home in my Moonlight Falls Victorian Collection, of which, Moonlight Bungalow and Huckleberry Cottage belong to.
Goose Cottage has a history; it was one of the early homes in Moonlight Grange, originally owned by a rather grumpy witch, who ran the cottage as an apothecary, although she eventually became reclusive and bitter to those who came too close to her home. This is why the early inhabitants of Moonlight Grange nick-named her 'The Goose', since her death, many years back, the home stood empty. Until the home was passed to her sister's grandson....
Since the house's creation I've managed to keep it to base game only content; it currently has a value of 59,340 Simoleons furnished and 40,333 Simoleons unfurnished. It sits on a 20 by 20 lot. I've tried to keep the interior the same as how it was when 'The Goose' lived there, hence the lack of modern appliances, although I've put the fridge in a pantry, just off the kitchen, behind the stairs.
P.S. In one of the interior pictures, the landing is shown as having the dresser in front of the window, however in the download it is switched with the crib, which now sits in front of the window. I would have taken a picture to show this but my game isn't working properly, so the existing ones will have to do. I hope you will enjoy this creation

Install Instructions
Quick Guide:
1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.
Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

About Me
Well, what can i say, I enjoy playing Sims. Please feel free to use and enjoy my creations, all i ask in return is that you do not re-upload them to other sites claiming them as your own. Thank You. I greatly appreciate feedback and hope that my lots are to your liking.
P.S. It would be very interesting to see pics of what you've done with the lots I have created, and the kinds of sims you've got living there, Or if they've been used in stories. But most importantly... Have Fun!!!
