JWoods has been such an aid to us meshers here. P

I have not been given permission to do this from him or the boss. I could get a smacked bum. I don't know how I stand with this but please help.

The polygon counts for these frames are
single: 838
double: 874

There are eight independent recolour packages. Indoor shadows. They use the full selection of bedding. EP ready. You'll need the Colour Enabler Package. Thanks to the SimPE and Meshtool creators and for all the help I've had at the Quick Guide to Colour Enabling thread.

I know this style is very similar to some of the beds already posted here but I did make them from scratch, I promise. I was always trying to get a bed like this into the Sims 1 but processing the animations for beds was always so difficult. I hope they're OK, they don't cause any problems with my game.

Update 24 October 2005.

I've posted modified versions of these two beds but I've left the older versions here as an option.

The new beds poly counts are double: 922 single: 918. The single is higher now because I put extra struts in and I think they're both a little higher because (oops and sorry) there are extra segments in the bends. These ones are mapped differently (after much experimentation I've settled for the planar way of mapping a cylander), the shadows are more precise. The major difference is that they are linked to a repository object. I'll need to explain this.

I'm including useless object here which is two cubes, one contains all the colour options for anything that looks like tubular steel (metal) and one contains all the colour options for wood. I've made other things and linked them, now, to this repository which means that if you want to download the updated dining table, the chair that goes with it, or a crib that I'm going to upload, or the coffee table, or the wardrobe I'm going to upload, they're all linked to either this repository item or a second one (or both) and therefore seperate recolours are not needed. For instance: the crib is linked to the repository with metal in it (for the frame) and also to the other repository (for the fabric). The table and chair are linked to this repository (metal and wood) the wardrobe is linked to two repositories, this one for the wood and the second one for surfaces. This means, hopefully, that if someone happens to have a couple of my uploads they are all colour co-ordinated and only the repository needs a recolour and it will be available for the other things I've made.

If you just want these beds then you'll still need the wood and metal repository but you can delete all the recolours for 'wood' and it should still save space for you (if you get both the double and the single).

These beds are also slightly different in that the struts are now the same colour as the rest of the frame and there is no wood texture for them. So swings and roundabouts. Oh, and these ones have been smoothed with Wings so they should look nice and shiny and, well, smoother.

I hope this isn't too confusing, let me know if you have any questions or issues.

The bottom two zip files contain both the beds and the repository.
