COMPATIBLE: BASEGAME PATCH v1.63 ~ v1.67;

This mod allows you to request a Gardener from any Telephone (not Mobile) to take care of your Garden. Just click on the Interaction "Call Gardener > Request Service" from the any telephone.

It's a "Recurrent Service" like the Maid so, once requested, the Gardener comes everyday at 8AM and leaves at 6PM.
If there are more than 50 gardening tasks, will come 2 Gardeners.

What he Does???
  • Water (also control the Sprinklers to reduce the tasks)
  • Weed
  • Harvest (automatically transfers to the "Home Fridge" (if it's edible) or the "Shared Family Inventory" (not edible))
  • Dispose Dead Plants
  • Rake Leaves (this functionality only works if you have Seasons EP)
  • [new]You can request the Service on additional Lots you own.
  • It's possible to configure the Tasks: Enable/Disable (Water, Weed, Revive, Harvest, Fertilize, Dispose, Rake Leaves);
  • Fertilize (25% of the plants with random Quality)
  • Revive Dead Plants (not Barren Plants)


The Harvested Products will be automatically transferred to the "Home Fridge" (if it's edible) or the "Shared Family Inventory" (if isn't edible).


UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

- Cancel Reset the Service using the Telephone (not Mobile) interaction "Call Gardener > Cancel Reset Service", wait until the gardeners leave.
-Save your game and Quit.
-Replace the package File with the new downloaded File, so restart your game and request the Service again.


Uninstall Instruction:
-To avoid corruption of the Saved Game:
- Cancel Reset the Service using the Telephone (not Mobile) interaction "Call Gardener > Cancel Reset Service", wait until the gardeners leave.
- Save your game and Quit.
- Remove the package file.


Known Issues:
- The gardener can't garden if you have a locked gate in your Garden.
- Don't try to cheat/modify the npc using mods. (example: change his age or behavior, or add him to your family, etc).

What happens is the plants don't grow and are stuck green and leafy. Like the picture before. They then lose all of their interactions, I only had Nraas and View. Nraas because I have master controller and some debugging mods.

I ran a "test interactions" command from one of them (Debug Enabler) and it output a script error showing that all of the interactions were failing.

The mod that I ran the command from is:

It says this in the readme about the command:

Runs every interaction associated with the object and dumps out whether they are visible, and why they are not visible
Any interaction that would normally bust the menu system will dump any associated script errors to the log as well


I don't recall a why in the log, and I can't find it now. I'll trigger the plants to break again and run the script and show you if you like?

Hey Douglasveiga, tried out the update and still nothing. I don't get any information to share. Still no NPC (none of them work), not even getting the gardener truck now. Not sure what step to take next...(weeping)

they don't show the interactions because the Plant is Dead or Barren (in the Plant Status Tooltip you can see it) even Green, probably it's a bug from previously Gardener Version. please, just let the Gardener dispose all the Dead or Barren.

Hello, and place the file in the folder, and when I boot the game I get a warning, some modification of the game will give accept, the game play and everything loads fine but when I want to hire a gardener Yamar not aparese me anything? that will be happening to me? I have the game updated to 1.26.89.01 ..... help please. thanks

This is a wonderful mod. It is so nice to have a gardener back in the game. I'm only having 1 issue though. Doesn't seem like the gardener wants to leave once he's finished. lol He just sticks around and was going through my house. So I end up just resetting him. He comes back the next day and we repeat the process. It's not much of a big deal to me to keep having to reset it, but thought I'd let you know none the less. Thanks again for giving me back my gardener!

EDIT: Ok, guess the gardener got tired of sticking around. The last couple times he showed up, he actually left.

did you add the resource.cfg in the "C:\Users\****\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods" folder?

I was replying to someone else. I used the 'Store All Fish / Harvestables Mod', and stated they conflicted, while someone else stated they didn't when they used them. It may be because they have different / less mods.

You're not understanding me at all. The plants are not dead or barren, and it happened from the first version of the mod - before I had a previous version.

They are broken. They do not grow. They do not die. They do not become barren. Gardeners stand around doing nothing. You can only delete them and start again.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Plant a garden.
2. Hire a gardener.
3. Wait for plants to grow to harvest.
4. Cancel gardener while they're on the lot/gardening.

NOTE: The plants still say they're at harvest level, they did NOT revert back to their original states. They WILL NOT grow or die. Gardeners do not interact with them because they say they're at harvest but they cannot be harvested because the option is not there! In this video there's only 1 surviving plant!

Also my plants are breaking even if I DON'T cancel. I don't know why, I've only found one trigger. When they leave the lot do they vanish like that or run to their cars?

EDIT: Please note that even the grapes that are at harvest level were broken .

And please don't edit it so they dispose of all the plants cause my garden will forever be empty. Because they break them every sim day .

I <3 <3 <3 this mod, what a time saver! I hope you'll create another gardening mod that doesn't include fertilizing actions... or have them always use the best quality fertilizer available. Thanks so much ~~

P.S. Alandra is right... my carrots won't allow harvesting. I'll just get new carrots but I can't find them at the grocery store. All the other plants are perfect though.

I don't have pets, but with the latest patch the option the buy the carrots at the store leaked through. There is no pic and when I plant them I can't see a plant but the gardeners do harvest them cuz when I go to my inventory they are there and when going to the store to sell produce they are there also.

This looks to be a great app but I have just found it 11/16/2011 and I would really like to be able to use. I have installed The Sims 3 Pets Limited Edition and I've installed this mod but the icon to Call Gardener is not there. Is there anyways you can update it so that it is compatiable with the pets my version is 1.26.8.013001. Thank you so much for making this mod but please try to update so I may use.
