ATTENTION - This tool is NO LONGER UPDATED!

If you want to install a framework to your Ambitions, Fast Lane, Outdoor Living or Generations, just download this file: http://chii.modthesims2.com/FrameworkSetup.zip and extract it to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3. Thats it. Next time you load the game you wont see the intro - if you do, then you screwed something up.

For more help, please see http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...Setup_and_Files

I will no longer be offering support for this tool and it is now deprecated!

Operating System: Windows

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Default Issue with having framework in 2 places
Hi Delphy,

Monkey Bars installs framework in both The Sims 3 and World Adventures directories. This caused my custom content to stop working after I reinstalled my game. I usually install framework manually, but I got lazy. I thought the problem might be the slight difference in the resource.config files. Replacing them with my old one didn't fix the problem. What did fix it was removing framework from The Sims 3 directory. Having framework in multiple locations seems be a problem. I hope this is helpful feedback.

Winterhart, having the framework in multiple locations wont cause problems by itself. If your game suddenly stops working with the framework installed, then it's not the framework itself thats to blame. I've never come across a circumstance where it's not been the actual custom content itself that doesn't work rather than the framework.

Okay first I want to thank you for both the Monkey Bars and Dashboard programs they helped tremendously with my issue.

I remembered something I had to do with another program awhile back and I figured I give it a shot with the sims and your programs as well. Really simple stuff... I just went through and deleted every last Resource.cfg and d3dx9_31.dll file in the folders and then used monkey bars to put them all back. Once I did that everything showed up and worked perfectly.

Again Thanks!

cutiepie20: Thats strange, becuase I developed it entirely using Windows 7 64-bit. If it doesn't work, it's something you are doing wrong.

My problems has persisted after two reinstallations. Currently, I'm only running BG. I used the framework checker, and it showed me this:

Then I tried to install Awesomemod and the Config to Mods/Packages and got this:

Even after removing Awesomemod and the Config the error screen still appears. Now I believe I have to reinstall again, but the problem may occur once again. Any tips?

Hey everybody,
everytime I put the d3dx9_31.dll file into my Sims3HELS/Game/bin folder and try to start the Game I'd get the message that the Launcher stopped working with these message:
Beschreibung:
Stopped working

Problemsignatur:
Problemereignisname: CLR20r3
Problemsignatur 01: sims3launcher.exe
Problemsignatur 02: 0.2.0.92
Problemsignatur 03: 4b68f94c

Problemsignatur 09: System.DllNotFoundException
Betriebsystemversion: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Gebietsschema-ID: 1031

If I'd delete the .dll file the game works but the Supercomputer mod not.
Has anybody an Idea how to help me?
PS: Before I added the Framework files I Installed the game with both addons. So there has been no Mods before.

This doesn't support Windows 7. It's a nice idea though.

threethings: Yes, it does support Windows 7. It was written entirely on Windows 7 Home Premium x64, since that's what is on my development machine. Maybe instead of saying "It doesn't support Windows 7" you should actually say what your problem is? That way it's actually helpful

Hey Delphy,
I just happened to get files named .Sims3pack
How do I get them to install correctly? I double click them and the launcher tells me that it was successful, but they never check off as 'downloaded' or appear in the 'Installed Content' section

Got any idea?

Thanks
