If you have no EPs beyond Nightlife (i.e. you have NL only or UNI and NL) please download the package entitled "NIGHTLIFE-ONLY-driveway-as-a-parking-space-Mog-20101104".

Just go to the thread and re-download the file. The name doesn't change - it has the date that it was created within it just for uniqueness. That date doesn't change when it is updated. Sorry for the confusion.

That's a very nice addition to the game and finally it makes sense to add parking slots to a lot. Thank you a lot for creating and sharing this with us.

This does'nt work for me, when I drive to the community lot I only get the same car driving by the lot (on the street) over and over again.

P.S.
I have TS2 Double Deluxe could that be the problem?

That sounds like a jump-bug on the car. Could you turn on boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true and send me the resultant error log please?

If your sim don't move in an invisible car, maybe it's caused by something put over the driveway.

Are you having a problem with an invisible car? Can you provide more details?

In fact, I don't think it's caused by your mods.

The first time, in a community lot, my sim was locked in an invisible car on the road, street lights were over the driveway, I moved them now it work well.

Another fact, I did a mistake, I put the old "Decorative Parking Spaces" with it, even if I updated the package, my sim was locked inside a decorative car, so I remove and put these spaces. The problem is fixed.

The second time, in a residential lot, my sim was locked in an invisible car on the road again, there was a fence over a "Decorative Parking Space", so I removed the fence.

Now, both mods seem to work well.

Hi Terquoise,

My understanding is that Double Deluxe is the Pets Game engine. I see from the error file that you are using the Nightlife only version. If I run the Nightlife only version in a game with the Pets EP I see errors (not quite the same but certainly it does not work correctly). Please can you try running the BEYOND-NIGHTLIFE version of this mod? Let me know if it works and I will put a specific comment about DD in the main thread.

Hi Kabuto,

It is definitely not a good idea to put something on the driveway. In fact you have to use a cheat in order to manage to put something on the driveway that isn't a car! The invisible car just means the car object has detected a problem before it has faded in. I'm glad to hear that you have managed to get it working once you removed the objects in the way.

Cheers
Mog

I'm having a problem and I'm hoping that you help me. I was playing my game last night, and the past week or so after installing your mod, with no problems. I sent my one sim to her owned community lot three times, she also went out with her friends, and came home with no problem.

I then loaded another lot, I sent my teen to a community lot, then sent her back home. Now I have the community lot time hack in by CrammyBoy, I've had no problems with my other lots. But this lot, the teen cannot come home. She and the car starts to come home but then it stops and she's stuck off world. I don't know how to get her home.

Error log attached too.

Unfortunately the error log you attach is not related - it is an error in the Nanny Controller. Thankfully, Maxis made it so that if anything happens in error while a Sims is away from their lot, you can just leave the community lot and go back to the Neighbourhood without saving and next time you load the home the Sim will return in the car. I will do some more testing in my own game and see if I can recreate.

You mention a few other things in your post - an owned community lot - does this have a driveway on it? And then taking another sim to a community lot which I assume also has a driveway on it? You mention two different Sims - did they both go to the same community lots (i.e. and thus park in the same driveways at some point)?

You say the Sim goes off world - I assume you mean that they left the lot but that the home lot doesn't load? Or are they trying to leave the lot and get stuck? i.e. car still visible?

I notice you have a huge number of biological clocks (inTeen?) on the lot that the error log was from. What other hacks do you have?

Ah, so it's the nanny. I wonder why it's doing that. I'll have to google and see what I find. Thanks for telling me!

The first sim I played owns a community lot, but I don't have parking there. So she just parks on the street in front of her store like normal. It's an old lot, I built it way back in 2007. But the sims didn't go to the same lot. Once I left her home lot and went to my other sim (the one giving me the trouble) she was already gone to another community lot.

I had sent her to a local mall, and then had her come back home. But before she came home I saved and exited the family lot. I've done this countless of times. Do you think that's what messed her up?

The mall lot loaded fine, it was when I was waiting for her to come home, that's when she never came. The rest of the family played fine, even her father came home from work, but she never came. I had to keep refreshing her moods because they kept dropping. As for the biological clocks, which are Inteen, I don't know why there are so many.

After posting I loaded the game back up and forced error off world. It took me a better part of 20 minutes deleteing and restarting all the errors. After that I was able to get the sim home, minus the car. Also, with forcing the errors the driveway parking slab was deleted. I had to replace it and buy them a new car. But I'm scared now to have any of them to use it. I'm afraid that the glitch will happen again.

Like I said, this hasn't happened to any other family I've played. So could it just be that family for some reason.

Sorry for all the questions. And again, that's for the help!

It is clearly not something as simple as just saving and exiting the family lot before the teen had driven onto the lot. I have tried this out too and it is OK.

Can you tell me how to "force error off world"? The fact that the driveway was deleted does suggest that the returning car had found the correct driveway which is the only thing I can think off that might have stopped them returning.

EDIT: Actually, although I don't know how to do it, I assume forcing an error in off world things means you have error logs for them. Could you send me the error logs you created while doing this pleasE?

I'm not sure which one to send you. I think there are like 5 error logs for that playing session. As for the forcing the errors off world, I used the lot debugger to do that.

Use the linked driveway recolour - see the description of building a carpark.
