southwesternicedtea,
hmm, anything in particular that doesn't work? or is it all of it?
I know that the hearth, because it's a barbeque, won't work untill after noon
(the setting sims on fire bit goes away once they have some cooking skill point, btw )
and the clickable area of the waterbutt is a bit tricky, just go for the top of the barrel or the bottom end of the drain
but
you're one of the non-ep people?
I'll have to check the codes
but usually, if things aren't non-ep-compatible, they just don't show up in the catalog.

I hardly even remember where I got all of them. I just go to google images and type 'copper' or 'old brick' :D

would you be able to tell me where you found these textures?
thanls :D

Lethe_s, so far it's been everything that didn't work, but since it DOES show up in the catalogue I guess it's not a non-ep problem. I'll keep experimenting and if I figure anything out I'll let you know.

ok, I checked the codes, and it probably isn't an ep-thing
you have me stumped, here....
and when you say everything, you don't mean the recolours too, right?
cause in that case, it might be something with your lot
I've never known recolours to not work
maybe more people reporting this problem will help us solve it...

My game actually doesnt even SHOW recolors. And I don't think it's a specific lot because I've tried it on more than one. This is odd

in that case, southwesternicedtea,
you may have to change the settings of your game
two things I can think of right now are:
- in game settings, make sure the 'show custom content' is checked
- download the latest CEP:http://sims.ambertation.de/
it's in Additional Downloads: Colour Options Enabler. You don't have to actually get SimPE for it to work.
Maybe check the game help forum here on mts2 and try to fix your game so it shows everything you download.
If you've done that, and still have trouble, come back to me
For now, I'm going to hope that it's your game, I'm sorry.

You are so creative. Thanks a lot for these rare objects.
My fav is the idea of using the barrel for washing. Brilliant.

This is my first post.

I think all the stuff you make is really awesome! Thanks... it really adds authenticity to the medieval theme!

Lethe, if it weren't for your items I wouldn't even HAVE a medieval neighbourhood. Even better in an already great collection. Thank you so much! I hope you're planning more. =)

Alright, so I've been trying things out in the game and here's what I've found:
My game settings already showed the custom content, and I had already downlaoded the latest CEP.
The water barrel works and the recolors for it show up. No recolors show up for the oven, and I haven't been able to get it to work even when I wait until after 12pm Sim time. 1 recolor shows up for the stove, but it's still not selectable in playing mode.
Any other ideas?

southwesternicedtea,
I think I misunderstood you, there,
I thought you couldn't get the recolours of the table and chairs and things to work either,
I'm sorry
it's logical that no recolours show up for the oven or the hearth, because there are none yet
at least not to my knowledge,
if the stove (that's the oven, right?) has a recolour, what does it look like? is it the same as the original?
in that case you may have the object in your downloads folder twice, and they will start interfering with each other
if it's something else, there could be some kind of guid conflict with another object
maybe try to find that object?

as for the oven, I rechecked the files, and I may have found something
but it's weird that this should only cause conflicts for you
i'll attache a reworked package to this post
if you've tried what I said above, and still don't feel like giving up, try this:
get rid of my previous oven, cause the new package will not overwrite it.
do a search in your downloads folder for lethes-mesh-medioven and take it out
put this one in
pm me when you've downloaded it, I'll take it back down then, to avoid general confusion

anyone else reading this: the download is not meant for you!
it's for testing purposes only, I'm trying to solve a conflict with southwesternicedtea here
if it turns out to be the answer, I'll post the new package in the first post

Awesome job! Any chance of making them .zip?

Thanks either way.

the chance of getting a zip file out of me are minuscule
getting an extractor will make your life a lot easier
find about a dozen links to programs here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=78295

Hah. I love your work because I have Sims who are less modern. I did not read about the combustion issue when I downloaded, or maybe I just did not care and forgot, as my Sims rarely grill. Nannies, however, do. My Sim family had invited the headmaster over, and during his visit the nanny lit the kitchen on fire three times. But that is okay. It just looked like she could not cook.

This set is beautiful!!! I can't believe I didn't notice it earlier. It is just what I need for my medieval neighborhood, no more trying to hide the stove in the fireplace.
