Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Compatible with 1.67

2010/06/15: To those who had problem saving using the box please now redownload.

I've been getting a few requests to make a box to store things in, so I made one a few months back (and totally forgot to upload it until somebody mentioned it again yesterday ). This is basically a simple box I made for that sole purpose, but if you're a cc creator you can actually make any objects functional using my script (similar to the way Buzzler's mod work, I've just noticed.)

You can store many things in this box using drag and drop (choose Open and drag the items from your sim inventory), and also I've added some options so you can easily store specific things like RGM, books, paintings, photographs, certificates, relics, and seeds in one click. You can also give it a label (ctrl+shift click on the object in buy mode)

The box itself is in Storage/Misc Storage for §15.

The files:

MiscStorage.package: This is the script and it's required for the mod to work. As long as you have this file, you can make your objects functional just by making a minor change to them. Instructions for that in the readme.

StorageBox.package: An actual object that shows up in catalog using the above script.

Compatibility: 1.22/2.16/3.12/4.9/5.7/6.4/7.2/8.0 and up.

-Updated for 1.22/2.16/3.12/4.9/5.7/6.4/7.2/8.0.

-Updated for 1.17/2.12/3.8/4.5/5.2/6.0.

-The label will now show up as a tooltip.

-The object can now be put in sim inventory.

2010/06/26 :
-Fixed broken interaction "Read Label" for the latest patch.
-Changed interaction definition for "Read Label" so it only appears when the label is actually present.

Any chance the boxes could be stackable o: ? Other than that, great object; love it! I can finally store those stupid high school diplomas somewhere and they won't take up space

Treeag, I've made quite a few custom boxes adding your script to them with s3pe, and they look and work great as extra storage, but I notice they are not portable like your original box - is that intentional or is there something I'm missing, or doing wrong, as I can't make the custom boxes portable and drag them into my sims inventory like your box? Thank you

I would like it if anyone has any CC that would work well using this method, please mail the URL to me!
I will report any bugs with these objects, Treeag.

I've had these storage boxes in my game since you released them. i though i had said thank you already but noticed i hadn't.
This is one of the greatest objects I've ever downloaded. i use them in almost every save game. I'm using them in one of my current games to hold everything my sim uses at UNI but cant fit in her tiny house and another to hold insects flowers and rare gems. i have the box decorated with a bat pattern and think of it as her magic box.
Really this is one of the best things. Thank You Thank You Thank You

I like this mod, it comes in handy to store supplies for skill based rooms, I even like that you can hit it with the style tool to have the crate match themes like giving it a stainless steel look for a science lab/bot building area, or dark wood for the alchemy room.

I've discovered that your box fits nicely on one of the slots on the alchemy station (and can be recolored to match the station so it looks as though it was a part of it,) so I can store alchemy ingredients at the station. This has me wondering if there is a possibility of adding insects to the objects it will automatically store? If you run around town collecting every insect, you can end up with a large assortment of them, and a lot of them are useful for alchemy (including ones like moths and cockroaches which are nice, inexpensive "any insects." )

Even if it's not possible, the box still makes it a lot easier to remove all the alchemy ingredients, make the potions, and then put all the leftovers back, so I thank you for that.

This has really saved a lot of stuff from mysteriously disappearing again! I am so happy with it, I buy it for every important household and store all important stuff before switching to another household.

This is just what i needed but i had a question about it

When i want to change house or move to another town what should i do? Will just moving the box in my family inventory would work or do i have to take inside items on my inventory? (not native speaker)
