I have lights like that in our house!!! And I didn't realize that sims world is missing it.

I think it is very nice. The idea of placing lamps into things is going to keep me busy for a while. Thank you!

I found it very useful since I play the game with RLS installed.

Thanks a lot, Numeror.

However, once more genius work!

I'm definitely having a blond moment, a very serious case of "blondeness"!!!
I only hope that it will last shortly, or my reputation will be soon ruined forever! -

The attachment has been updated again: now it contains the fixed lamps, plus the .nlo files
I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience...

And thank you Psychosim0 for alerting me.

This night light works wonderfully - it's great in my Sim kids' rooms because it makes the game more realistic. Who didn't have a night light when they were toddlers/children? I also like it for the hallways in the house in case my adult Sims need to get up and pee or for the Sims that have ridiculous work hours. Thank you very much.

Somehow, the non-blue versions fail to appear in my game, I can click them, but just hear an error sound and they become de-selected, probably due to their unavailability in the regular catalog. buying blue and switching however works.

At first I thought it could be due to your game configuration, but I see your have all the EP/SP, just like me; I tested the lights in both my all-EP game and my basegame and they worked... I'll try and see what can cause this odd behaviour; in the meantime, I see that you already found a workaround. Thank you for reporting!

I have a question about the height adjustment of the lamps. So, does this courtesy lamp have the ability to move up and down like some of the wall lamps from Apartment Life? Or is that not included? I am only asking this because I'd love to have these placed above every third step, and with that shifty feature from Mansion and Garden Stuff, it would come in much more handy.

I didn't implement the vertical shift feature, because I wanted to keep the lamps compatible with all the games.

On community lots it only lets me select the blue lights from the collection. Why is this?

Default Update
COURTESY LIGHTS / EMERGENCY LAMPS
* with custom coloured lights *
>> by Numenor <<

28 NOV 2008 - BUGFIX: non-blue lamps are now selectable from the collection, too + the low red lamp now correctly decreases its intensity when picked and placed.

Thank you Fat D and Simfan432 for reporting! I forgot that Maxis changed deeply the collections with Bon Voyage, preventing to pick an object if it's not already in catalog.
However, thanks to your bug reports, I could learn something new Despite what tried to do Maxis, the non-blue lamps still don't appear in catalog, BUT they can now be selected from the collection -

Thanks, Numenor, for this creation. I have found that your courtesy lights are a must since I installed Gunmod's Radiance Light System mod. I like the blue and red the most, yellow the least and white is very neutral. Thanks again, looking forward to more of your contributions to the Sims gaming community.

These are an excellent idea! I always wondered what happened to "Night Lights". I wonder... how hard would it be to change the mesh for different night light styles? Thanks a lot!!!!

I love when the players use my creations for something I didn't think of -

Or for the beginning of a somewhat "spooky" underground room, above a graveyard, perhaps?

(Please read the titles for details, folks.)

And THANK YOU, Numenor, for your most excellent work!
