Do you stick it in your downloads folder? Because I don't have a saved sims folder :/

You don't have a saved sims folder yet.

It should work if you just create a folder under Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/ called 'SavedSims'. This is the folder where any .sim you get off The Exchange or from a CC site (like MTS) should go. In game, the sims you place there will show up in CAS in the Saved/Pre-Made Sims bin.
I had to manually recreate my folder recently the same way, but it works fine.

And to Annyon, I just want to say that I really love this a whole lot. I am wishing very hard for some way to replace the Wild Horse spawning files so I can have wild direhorses in a world.

o.o I just want you to know...because of this horse, my equestrian simsies have many beautiful mixed blue ponies. I mixed this one up with my horse that has stripes n spots and omg the babies were gooorgeous!

Treeag's Sim Transformer can turn it into a unicorn, without the horn, it will have the unicorn glow and the unicorn idles. (In theory - It did when I had it turn a regular horse into a unicorn) - Worth a try, at any rate!

I love this horse and it looks great. I downloaded it into my mods/packages folder and extracted it with WinRAR. But when I log onto the game, i don't see it anywhere. Could someone please tell me how to download it because I have never downloaded and custom pet and I really like this horse. Also if it worked would it be in the sim bin? Thank you for making this horse though!

This is so much more beautiful than the "horses" in Avatar which are ugly and weird looking. Just got Sims 3 and Pets a few days ago. Can't wait to try this out!

idk if this is possible.. but if it is then only you can do it...
could you plz try making RUIN form Darksiders 1... its a horse but a badass one too XD
