Here's what I've figured out in using this today, in case this may answer any future questions. This lovely program will detect broken mods, duplicates, sims2/sims3 files, conflicts, disabled files, third party files, and wrong content type files (possibly needs to be unpacked).

First off, you do not install this. Just unzip it to a folder on your desktop or in your downloads, and run the .exe from there. You need to set the path to where your mods are installed. Then you will scan. You can scan the entire directory, a single folder, or a single file. On the left side of the window you will see a smiley face with the version number of the program. If a red sad face shows up, then it will have a file listed next to it. You need to find that file in your mods folder and remove it. Then run the scan again. Rinse and repeat until you get no sad faces. Once it is able to make it all the way through your mods folder, it will automatically analyze the files it has scanned. That can take a bit of time if you have a lot of files like me. When it is finished, you will have a list of every mod file in the directory and they will be color coded. If you aren't sure what a color means, mouse over the colors legend on the upper right.

Even the latest version, 1.9, doesn't work. I have never been able to open this program at all.

I just signed up to ask: So I have a cc that I downloaded because it's been updated, but I still have the other one that's already installed with the same package name, how will I deal with using MCD to delete only the one that's later in date than the one near the furthest (ahead) date; e.g.

Date modified: 11/6/2015 11:52 PM but I just downloaded one let's say today because it just got updated 6/17/2019 7:03 AM

Also, thank you so much to those who made MCD happen, it's a huge life saver!! :D

This will not be as helpful as it has not been updated. I wish there was a different way to find broken or outdated mods. I used it only once this entire year. Didn't help much at all.

downloaded it from here, working as intended. Don't download 1.9, if it isn't working then you're doing it wrong or aren't on win10.
might not be as useful as before since it isn't updated to latest gamepatch (1.55), throwing lot of conflicts but at least it can be useful to some extent as a corrupted/old sims2-3 detector.

fr: téléchargé ici, fonctionne, n'utilisez pas 1.9, à moins que vous ne soyez pas sous windows10
Pas tant utile vus que pas à jour (1.55) mais au moins détecte les packages corrompus // venant de sims2/3
